SebulbaDingid Avery, you are our stats man, forever and always. You do such a great job.
No Avery, at this point, we are not partners as they have not been determined. When we determine the way to go about our weekly matches, we may need to tweak the spreadsheet some. Thanks so much Bill! That means a lot to me and I am honored. I actually do really enjoy doing it. It takes my mind off of a lot of my real life struggles. Let me know if you have any ideas with regards to how I can tweak it for season 2 and make it better! I will be thinking of ways myself

-7 for the 1st rd, then could only manage to bang in a -12 for rd 2. Don't know if it will worry Avery, but I'm like a pig in sh!t with the 2nd rd score. Think I will lose the demotion mark I got last week. A -12 huh Paul?? I actually am a bit worried now considering my tempo has been god awful for some reason lately and I feel like my game is slowly but surely completely falling apart. My perfect season may be coming to a close

Hoping to tee off tomorrow. Practice rounds over the weekend were decent so we will see.

Round 1
-9
Round 2
-9
I am not even sure how I posted a respectable score much less -9 in round 1 considering I had 0 perfect/perfect swings (all fast or slow but for some odd reason my short game was on fire)
I played a lot better in Round 2 and caught fire early with 6 birdies in 7 holes but then became nothing short of stagnant on the back fighting for pars
Great job so far Paul, I believe you are in the lead. I thought I could match your -12 round 2 after 9 holes but that was not the case. If you keep this play up I believe you will be my most challenging opponent yet.

Away we go.... 64-67 for -11 after 2 rounds. Very close to being a few lower, but some unfortunate rolls and bounces cost me.

Well my second round is in the books. Seemed like most of the round I was getting a good bounce one hole and a rotten bounce the next. I made several 8-12 foot par saves and made an eagle at 9. I missed my landing spots on the greens a few times and wound up just trying to salvage a par.
-8 for the round.
The more I play the course, the more I am impressed with Paul's 2nd round -12. Heckuva round by Mr Bradford.

Week 18
Paul -19 (2) vs Avery -18 (2) ( can Paul pull the upset of the season?) Sorry Avery, but I think we are all pulling for Paul.
Leon -29 (4) vs Joe -11 (2) (Tied in the standings)
Hunter E (1) vs James +1 (1) (must win for Hunter..expect James to put up a fight)
Nate -9 (2) Vs Ashton (must win for Ashton but Nate needs it to move up)
Bill -17(2)Vs Digs ( Bill leads Digs by 1 point in the battle for 4th)
Tight matches all around. Good luck.

Still thinking about the formats for season 2. How does everyone feel about some match play mixed in with our tourney style that we have used so far?

Hey guys, this is a little off topic from my usual posts here in the Dirtbags forum.
As you guys know I have been playing on the PGA Tour for a couple weeks now. It has been a struggle and an uphill battle. When I got to the PGA I was very excited to show what I could do and what skills I thought I possessed. I have missed all 4 cuts and have not been able to score higher than -9. I am having tempo issues and analyzing shot issues.
BUT when I play my Dirtbag rounds I play with ease and have no such issues.
I would very much like to hear what guys think I should do differently to help improve
Any tips and suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Avery, you are probably trying too hard on the PGA. You have a confort zone here that frees you up. The courses are more difficult there, than here. You took a big leap from CC-pro to PGA. All these things are to be considered. Have patience. I was on the Euro tour a few seasons ago and I enjoy being here much more. On the top tours you hear a lot of ego talk and complaining if they don't shoot 12-15 under each time. There, it was a struggle for me to make a cut. I would say the only thing you need to do differently is RELAX. I have played with your ghost many times, and I feel like you have the potential to become a top 50 player easily. There are times I play Bradley Garcia's ghost in a practice round and his course managment is great. Play a practice round with his ghost and pay attention. For example ,on par 5's he plays to a certain distance if he can't get home in two, he stays away from partial shots etc. His ball always seems to come to rest on the proper side of the hole...by design. And BREATHE before you take a shot. Know that you belong there, because you do. Hope that helps a little. More of a pep talk than tips.

sid snott Paul I was just referring to fourballs, total scores etc. Like Ryder Cup type matches. I want both players on a team to matter and I want it to fun for all. Points would be awarded for each round and totaled at the end of the match and the winning team gets the points. By the way, if you plan on a lot more -12s, I want to be your partner.

Great advice above, I was going to say similar to the "trying too hard" stuff, relating to speed of play. I play VERY fast, probably way too fast at times. BUT, when practice has gone well and I try a tourny, I think I try to focus too much and get too deliberate, probably too slow for my style. In my current tourny, my first 2 rounds were poor, I got frustrated and decided to just play them all in one go, and my 3rd round was a -9, typical! I think stopping caring and playing free can help you. Obviously you can go too far the other way as well.. It can sound a bit juvenile, simplistic and unrealistic, but I know that sports psychologists do talk to sportspeople in this way; if you can genuinely start to picture and feel that vibe of your dirtbag round when you play your PGA round, you can make it self-fulfilling, over time. I'm playing terrible in tournaments right now! Annoying the sh%$ out of me! So I need to try and do the same! Everyone is different, some people play instinctually, some do the maths and calculations and are very deliberate. But that approach to psychology really can work for anyone...
