Hello everyone. I'm new to the board. I've been playing TGC2 for a couple years and I'm constantly looking for the most challenging courses to play. It seems like most courses you can consistently shoot -10 to -12 under. Some of the toughest courses I've played in windy conditions is Shinnecock Hills, Erin Hills, Pinehurst #2 and Augusta (Royce Brown) design. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Would love to find a US Open type setup where shooting -2 is a challenge. Thank you.

Having played various versions of TGC through the years, and from the info you have provided, it sounds like you aren't going to find a course where shooting -2 is a challenge. And if you do find a course, it's going to be a ridiculous, unfair, not fun experience. What you need is a harder mode to play on, not a harder course. I recommend True Sim or Ultimate Sim. Apologies for my laziness, but just look around the forum and you will find stuff on both.

Oakmont Championship
Olympia
Copperhead
Quail Hollow
There are more but those 4 should keep you busy. Obviously depends on how you play no assist or assist on and the settings of the course but I find with no assists those tracks are about as tough as it gets and mirror a US Open type venue.

Should be damned challenging on most decent courses. If you're using Pro Clubs (or lord forbid, Beginner), then up it to Master, no alterations to the settings. If still too easy, then you have my unbounded respect. Most people find the tempo issues challenging as all get out (and get back in again). And if you're a mouse player - dayamn. Hat=off.

Give Oakland Hills South a play on tips pin 4 if you want a stressful test of proper golf! Man I could use a stressful round. Was going to play this anyway, but could you tell me also what is the worst wind so I can have that too?

The course was designed with a West wind making the long par 4 8th & 18th play uphill into the wind.

That would be great, I love to see how other players attack the course. Consider a layup on 17 depending on the wind.

I'm curious what it is with that hole to be sure It’s a long, uphill par 3 into a nasty green, but if you fancy a 2 iron and have some gonads then have at it mate. I play both 9 & 17 for par myself, and each is longer even yet for majors.
