I am fine sharing the win. Going into this thing I knew there was going to be some top competition and was hoping to just have a decent showing. Playing this way really makes you focus more on each shot which really helped my game. Getting ready to give Chambers Bay a try, good luck all!

Started Oakmont and got 2 rounds in before work stuff eliminated all my video golf time. Shot +1 and E; you guys at double-digits under par are just phenomenal putters. So many burned edges for me, so many rude words. A click left or right here or there or a touch different pace (just a touch) and I would have been much happier.
I hope to get to finish Chambers Bay this week.
Cheers!

I might join and give it a bash this week but it means some other society might take the hit.

With only a gentle breeze in the 2nd round,Chambers Bay was much more welcoming.Managed a 4 under 67.Just a couple of silly bogeys on both the back 9 par 3âs.Three putted one of them & fluffed a short chip on the other.I think steady Eddie will be the man to beat this week,he shot another 65 to be 12 under after 36.Enjoy your rounds everyone,Chambers Bay really comes to life with these settings ð

After being rained off from some real life golf today,I thought I would play some video game golf & I definitely had more fun than I would have playing the real thing today. In fact I think I just had the most fun Iâve ever had on a golf video game after donkeys years going back to pga on mega drive.Played first & set off eagle, birdie & thought wow I could be in for a low one here, unfortunately rest of front nine was a bit more up & down, had another birdie but also a bogey & a triple ðĪŽ,to go out in level par.I then made 9 straight pars on back 9 for a level par 71.Very happy with that but I am 6 shots behind PS4 leader infamous Eddie who shot a fantastic 65,great knock Eddie ð PGA tour golf on the megadrive just had a nostalgic moment ð. Playing Leaderboard on the C64 in my teens actually got me into playing the real game. This ultra sim tour feels as close as the real thing on a video game for me apart from the VR game

Welp, I'm +10 through 2 at Chambers Bay, definitely tougher conditions this week which don't suit my style of play (my style being I'm shiiiiiit), I'll be very impressed with anybody who finishes under par this week, even the PS4 guys lol Just had the most satisfying comeback I've ever had with this game (as you could tell if you were one of the 2 people on my stream lol), I set what I thought was probably a laughably ambitious goal of getting back to level par for the tournament after being +10 (edit: +9 obviously, thanks to colly for pointing out my idiocy!) after 2, but somehow managed to get it with a desperately-needed birdie on the 18th! So yeah, I won't be nearly as impressed as I thought with any under-par scores this week, my perception of the course difficulty was obfuscated by my total incompetence in the first 2 rounds.

Don't forget to finish up your rounds by 8am GMT tomorrow, I'm going to be recording and posting ultra sim rankings plus a whole bunch of long-term stats for everyone in addition to the main weekly leaderboard across the 3 platforms! Next week's event starting tomorrow is at Chambers Bay, all default settings and with medium and high winds, so be prepared for a tougher challenge this time Hmm rankings..... I guess I shouldn't have let my grandson play a few holes in the 4th round.. All good.

Oh lord, that'll be the dementia setting in then, and it might explain why I miscalculated so many approaches... better start playing by 'feel' from now on Edit: thinking back that +10 brain fart is probably because I actually eagled the 18th in R2 and my mind instinctively registered it as a birdie (because who the hell gets eagles in ultra sim), at least that's the excuse I'm using to avoid panicking about being brain damaged.

+1 for round 1 (4 birdies, 5 bogeys). Hit all fairways but missed 6 greens. My scrambling magic from Oakmont ran out with a 33.33% save rate this time around. This course is definitely a beast. Shortside and your screwed on this course. Going to try to play a round a day on this. Don't know how you guys can bang out 4 rounds like that and keep your focus. Then again takes me about an hour a round, when I rush I make horrible decisions.

Saw someone post the below in the TST thread - no judgement from me, it's 100% acceptable within TST rules, but it's a useful highlight of just how much more realistic ultra sim is purely because of the follow cam ban. A genuine sim experience imo should not give you green reads thanks to close-up, multi-camera views of several balls (including your own) landing and rolling on the green before you get to the green yourself. If HB ever gives us the option to lock follow cam I'm certain the TST admins will implement it.

I'm not getting an unrealistic read by standing directly behind my playing partner on his putt.
