Started my third round by making a stupid mental error and putting my second shot in the water. Dropped and then chipped it in from 12 yards to save par. It took me a couple holes to get going and then wow. My putter started working. Drove the 9th and just missed a 44 foot eagle putt. Drove the 12 and made that 10 footer for eagle. Finished at -12 which was a tie for the top of the leaderboard at -31.
I was going to go relax and practice the round four but inflames47 and friends convinced me to play one as I was shooting well. Once again almost bogey #1 it was a nice 18 foot par save that got me going. As I finished the front nine at -5 I looked and realized I needed 7 birdies to tie for first. Birdied #10. On #11 barely got over the bunker and had a really trick downhill, left to right putt that was about a grid and a half of break. Made some nice shots and birdied the next four holes. Needing only one birdie in the next 3 holes to tie, I made a poor second and third shot and needed a good putt to save par on #16. Figured I would need birdie, birdie to win out right.
Good tee shot on #17, all I wanted was to make sure I got the ball on the top tier. Ball started left but a slow downswing brought it back where I wanted it and the golf gods smiled on me as it landed where I wanted and rolled into the cup. It was a lucky shot in more ways than one. I was now one shot up with one to go. Left my approach shot on 18 short but I made a nice 19 foot curler for birdie and a -9 over the last 9 holes. 22 putts is the lowest I have been in many months.
I'm still not 100% comfortable with the new mouse swing but one thing for sure is it has made a huge difference in my putting. I'm finally taking a full motion mouse swing and if anything we are calling it the "John Daly" swing cause we have to really push super fast on the downswing. It is different but quite manageable. For the first time in TGC 2019 I feel that I might be able to compete at my TGC 2 levels, so now I'm going to work to get back on the PGA tour. Scoreboard watching.
Eagle #17

Okay now I'm going to officially say "YAY!!!" Only took 3 years 5 months to get a second win. It took an eagle on #17 to seal the win against you, stoneysooner. You got yours on 15, I got mine on 17. Well played. Glad I birdied #18 so it wasn't a fluke shot that won it.

Thanks and grats to those getting a promotion mark. I honestly started the last two rounds, hoping I didn't mess up the opportunity to get a top 10 because of the new swing. Never thought I had a chance to win it until hole 16. Thankfully I didn't mess it up like I did in last years Open Championship. It feels good.

sorry, should've been clearer. I know it's a VERSION of st andrews, but i'm struggling to find this version, based off its name and yardage.
when typing "andrews" or "links" or "old course" i have not been able to find a version of st andrews with "links" in the title, or with the yardage the cours listing has of 7.156.

When I go to the Euro schedule on the PS4, and go to that tournament, I see its name was actually "St Andrews - Old Course Tourn." and it's length was 7274.

didn't go know you could view the schedules on platform? how does one do that?
But i found another way to find it- by "other courses by designer" which is a feature i don't use often, so didn't occur to me right away. And yep, that's the one, thanks
Thanks for the response, off to give it a go!
