Have fun and watch out on those large green with putts that can't get to where you want to be!

Opened up with -12 first round not too bad not too good then came the hurricane that is round 2!! Played the wind pretty well considering the direction it's blowing but was extremely frustrated on the greens ... so many putts lipping out or just missing... only 2 bogies but only 5 birdies as well so sitting at -15 for the cut and think I'll be struggling

Went ahead and finished up because I'm bored and hit -12 -12 for -39 total ... first week here so we'll see where that leaves me. Good luck all those left to tee off and well played all those that have finished 😀

-8,-6,-15,-11 for a finish of -40. Wont win but hoping for a top 10 to get my 5th promotion check. Love playing RCR's so had a great time playing this tourney. Good luck everyone

Well, I was swinging the club well in my practice swings on the first tee. Then I managed to have a slow downswing on my tee shot, and a slow downswing on my pitch which bounced off the top of the retaining wall, then I missed a 10 foot birdie on 2, then I had a fast downswing on my pitch into the bunker on 3. Did manage to par all 3, somehow. Missed a birdie putt on 4 by 9 inches. Birdied 5 but had a fast downswing on my approach on 6 and missed the 14 foot birdie. Birdied 7 but missed a 13 foot birdie putt on 8. Slow downswing off the tee on 11, but I hit a good flop and parred. Fast backswing and downswing on a flop from 25 yards on 12 and I ended up off the green 13 yards to the left of the pin and missed the chip by a foot. Missed an 11 foot birdie on 13. Fast downswing on a flop again on 14 and missed an 11 foot birdie. Fast downswing off the tee and again on my approach shot on 15 left me with a 2-putt from 70 feet. Missed an 8 foot birdie on 16. Fast downswing on my flop on 18. Finished with 14 pars and 4 birdies, think I only made 1 or 2 putts longer than 6 feet or so. Really don't think it's possible for me to make the cut at this point.

Second round I started off putting really well but then I missed a 5 foot birdie on 10 and a 9 foot birdie on 11. Got a bit better after that, then missed a 20-ish foot birdie on 16 and a 13 foot birdie on 17. Birdied 18 to finish the round at -8 with 8 birdies and 10 pars, much better than my first round despite the wind.

*I bet -51 wins it. Even I was knocking in putts from everywhere on these greens in practice. Maybe the marker is actually helping me. I'm using it under protest. I also have been forcing myself to use that ridiculous aiming reticule thing. My word, that circle is just about as big as the green.

Thanks fadgewacker for talking me into using that putting marker. I missed putts even closer if that's even possible. Now I've got to somehow fire a 48 in the last round to hit my winning prediction number.

I have no idea about the cut this week... First round is getable and the second round just sucks... especially the front 9.
-7 and a -6 for me for -13. I can easily see the leader being in the -20 neighborhood and the cut being anywhere from -10 to -15.. lol

I'm adopting a new strategy next week and will play cold, without any practice rounds. I really think you can use up shots somehow.

Got a new laptop. Previous XB player. This thing might be a life saver. -39 this week and no bogeys in round 2 with those winds. That's a win in my book for sure. I really enjoyed St Andrews this week. Such a great course. Good luck to those yet to play!

-15 at the cut.
It's difficult to predict but if I had to throw out a number for the cut line I guess I'd go with -12, with -8 R1 and -4 R2 respectively being right around that cut mark.
My R1 at -8 I felt like I left a few out there. I complained last week about how I am generally playing well right now but I become a mental case as soon as I load up my TGC rounds and everything goes to sh%$. There were hints of that in this round with some loose approach shots and OK putting, but I stayed out of any real danger, didn't let any mishaps bother me, was able to avoid any bogeys and mixed in a few couple birdies even when my swing confidence fell off early in the back 9 which should have been the most score-able part of the round. I'm certainly capable of a better round than -8 in these conditions, but all in all fought off my usually tgctours demons pretty well and finished feeling pretty good about my game even though the score was just OK.
Shot -7 R2. I could tell R2 was going to be a beast just based on society chat. I welcomed this! I feel like I'm a better difficult conditions player than a birdiefest shootout player. Someone complained about the pin placement on hole 3 so I was fully prepared to find an unfair hole location there but I didn't actually find that, everything seemed fine. Difficult, but nothing I'd call unfair. Knowing it was going to be tough I felt like I did a good job tempering score expectations going into the round and just taking it one shot at a time. I figured if I could put up a bogey free round it would most likely gain strokes on the field, so that was my primary goal. Felt like I did a really good job executing this. Chipped well, and most importantly handled the long putts well. I VERY nearly holed a 95 foot putt which at first I was frustrated didn't get to the fringe or get over 100ft. This was on the 10th for eagle after driving the green, I think. Seemed like most holes were either straight into the wind or straight downwind, not a lot of crosswind. I suppose that makes sense based on what I know about St. Andrews layout.
All in all I felt pretty good about my -15. After playing a few weeks here on Euro I feel like I'm a good fit here, in that my average game is just inside the cut line. If I'm off I miss the cut, and if I were to play really well (in theory this is possible) I could contend. I feel like I'll probably be here a while. Occasionally I'll pick up promotion marks in top 10's or given enough of a sample size eventually I'll sneak in a win, but I'll also probably drop those just as often with the occasional missed cut. I don't see the bottom 120-150 or whatever it is to start the chain of red check marks being an issue. Having said that it all goes downhill if my play time falls off, which is entirely possible knowing me. Some other game will distract me at some point.
Somehow I birdied No. 17 both days. That hole has been my nemesis in video golf games for decades. We'll see how R3/R4 go. As is usually the case, I will probably wait until Saturday to play them. This is assuming I'm not dead wrong about the cut line, which is entirely possible.

Seems some one on the admin side got tired of the 'flick' jokes in the title. Ah well. It was flicking fun while it lasted!
