Needed to kill some time so decided to do a little tutorial on how to use Gforce Experience to record replays. I've seen people ask before and figure a guide with pictures and all may be of use to someone. Or not and I just wasted a lot of time lol..
Sorry for the length.
Step 1
If you are using a Nvidea graphics card and don't have Gforce Experience installed you can download it from here.
www.geforce.com/geforce-experience/download
Install it. You will need to register and log in to use it. It's free.
Next
Open Experience and click this button. Top right, looks like a gear and if you hover over it it says "settings"
Next
In the make sure the little slider to the right of "In Game Overlay" is to the right. Green means it's "on"
Then click "Settings"
Then "recordings" This is where you can change the folder you save your videos in.
Click "back" then "done"
Click the icon for "Record"
Then "Stop and Save"
Click the icon for "Instant Replay" and turn that off too
You need to have these turned off for the next step.
Next click the "gear icon" then scroll down to "video capture"
Here is where you set your resolution, bit rate, how much time you record and frame rate.
This is how I have mine set.
Click "back" then "done"
Make sure you turn on "instant replay" and "recordings" again. Then click the X at the top right to exit
Back to main screen now and click settings again
Click "Keyboard Shortcuts"
I use F11 to capture the last 5 minutes of game play. Can use whatever you want.
Thats pretty much it. Exit out of that, click the top right X. I close Gforce Experience right down when it's all set up. When I start the golf or any game I make sure I see the little notification at the top right and see my frame rate counter at the bottom right. I know the program is running then. It usually starts up on its own all the time without any intervention but every once and while I'll got to grab a recording or notice my frame rate counter isn't on and have to go into Gforce Experience to turn it on. It's pretty quick and easy once you get to know it.
Now you have your replay saved. You can navigate to where you have it stored, upload it to you tube or somewhere or edit it in a video editor. I edit mine in Windows Movie Maker, just to trim the size and focus solely on the shot I'm wanted to show. I set it to record 5 minutes because I kept missing the shot I was looking for, this way its over kill, but I just trim it down and most my replays are 20 or 30 seconds at most.
