Went from T8 last week to T94 this week, just -24 for the tourney. Never could get much going - the course just didn't agree with me! I never really found a way to score on the par 5 9th, and played inconsistently all week. And to be clear, I found the course challenging and fair - it is a quality course! Well done Pat! Congrats on the tour slot, it's a worthy stop! Next week is Tantallon Castle and if you haven't played it - you're in for a treat. It's another great course. Cheers Kevin, the only hole I didn't pick anything up on was the 10th. Looking through the Hole by Hole stats gives me an idea of what other find tough as I can only design to my own game. It's currently sitting at just under 5k plays which is great, and hearing comments from other players is invaluable.

I was planning to take a break from the tour this week to work on my own course, but this Tantallon Castle course looks fantastic, don’t think I’ll be able to resist...

...and I couldn't. After the first two rounds I'm on -10. Highlight so far was hitting the ruins on the par 5 14th, but still getting a birdie Great links course.

Whenever you see a par 3 birdie on my scorecard, this is usually how it happened:
Finished -20 this week. Rushed through my rounds a bit, I'm hoping that's enough to avoid a demotion mark, although as things stand I'm quite close to the bottom of the leaderboard after round 1.

Nice job again on this course. Enjoyed the tours for once. I streamed all 4 rounds yesterday and that par 3 after the castle ruins surely provided entertainment all four rounds. Those last several holes were always a favorite of mine.

Back to back 64’s have me at -16 heading into the weekend.
Putter couldn’t miss at times. It’s nice to have my best weapon firing again. Holed a 42 footer in each of the rounds amongst a number of other good ones.
Beautiful course by the way! Roll on the weekend!

Well I packed up my bags minus my missing pro clubs and headed south and to the other side of Scotland towards Tantallon Castle. My driver dropped me off at the clubhouse just as the CC-Cers were finishing up their rounds. I met a couple of the CC-A guys in the clubhouse who would take to the tees after we were finished. I picked up a couple of birdies on the par 5 2nd and par 4 3rd holes, although hitting anything but fairway on the 6th led to my first bogey. I started the back 9 with a birdie on the 10th (View) hole but gave it back on the unlucky number 13. On the (Ruins) par 5 I managed to steer clear of said ruins and pitched onto the green before putting for birdie to go -2. On the 16th (Gap) and 17th (Dune) I picked up another couple of birdies before parring the last for a first round of -4. I bumped into jwtexan in the clubhouse and bought him a drink to congratulate him on his first tour stop, then I left just in case one drink turned to several.

Oof. Tantallon's par 5s gave me fits all 4 rounds, never found a way to score reliably. My approach math graded around a B- and my putter was - at best - lukewarm. All of it rounds out to a -27 total for the week, very disappointing for me!
Still love this course though, I just could not find the scoring!

I'm currently sitting at -20 (-2, -9, -9) after three rounds. Just in case someone is interested...

I arrived at the course early in the morning and decided to tag along with Crazy Croc and SAM for my 2nd round. My first birdie came on the 4th but immediately gave that back with interest with a double bogey on the 5th. But then redeemed myself on the 6th with a birdie to go even par through the 7th. On the 8th a birdie got me down in the minus numbers but after that I stalled as I went on a par streak all the way to the clubhouse. I'm going to jump back out quick again as I need to fly to Munich to oversee my new course.

I started my 3rd round on good form with 3 birdies on the first 3 holes and a birdie then bogey on 8 and 9 had me at -3. The back 9 started with 2 pars but then a sensational 226 yard albatross put me up to -6. Another stroke was picked up with a birdie on the 13th and I went -8 on the 17th, but was grounded by a bogey on the last to finish -7.
I think the Albatross left the commentator tongue tied.

Scored -8 in my final round with a very ugly double bogey on the last par 5, where I couldn't get a pitch shot past the structure and was too proud to declare unplayable.

Final round done and a round of -3 for a total of -15 I think will get me a demotion mark. I went all Van De Velde on the 14th after my drive left me in the rough, I thought I'll try carry the wall and make the second fairway. No such luck I was down in the embankment with a shot over the wall, so I thought I'll just try and get it on the green, to which I failed and was left at the side of the building at the front of the green. I thought I'd try a flop shot with a bit of draw which didn't happen and was left with an awkward 20-odd foot putt which I missed.
So 3 bogies, 4 birdies and an eagle on the par 5 6th hole seen a mixed bag of a round. Now gotta jet to Munich and explain why a pretzel shaped bunker is going to be a bad idea. After that it's onto Lakewood, I don't know where that is in the world if anyone has any idea can they let me know.
That's my first full tournament with Master clubs in the bag, so do I get a badge for that now?
