Getting frustrated now.
Played two practice rounds yesterday and loved the course. Shot -11 and -11, then played my rounds today and couldn’t hole a thing. I usually pride myself on being a top notch putter but this has just been PAINFUL through two rounds.
It’s in my head. Need to snap out of this

I only play the one practice round the week before playing a course on tour, as I would get the same thing happen where you shoot well then can't match it in the tournament. But as you said it can get into your head, the problem I get often is I'll club down to catch the edge of a green but end up with a slow swing and not making it.

Round 2 in the bag and shot 10 under par with 11 birdies and a bogey on the 15th. I managed a birdie on the 8th which is the most challenging hole on the course and had a run of 4 birdies through 11-14. I'm sitting on -19 after two rounds which I don't think will be enough to challenge for a GPS.

Well after a promising start the local lad's game took a turn for the worse. Two birdies on the first 2 holes followed by a triple bogey led to a drop in confidence. That was followed by 2 birdies and a bogey on the next 3 holes before he birdied the 9th to end the front 9 -1. By the time he stepped onto the 10th tee the crowd's interest in his round had diminished and rightly so. A solitary birdie on the 13th seen him trudge into the clubhouse at -2 and disappear down the leaderboard.

I managed a birdie on the 8th which is the most challenging hole on the course How is the hole difficulty determined? Does the designer set it or does the game calculate them?

So I left my pro clubs in the clubhouse assuming they were going to be safe, but alas they disappeared. So I took to my final round with master clubs and it wasn't too shabby, as I shot a 7 under round. Two bogies on the 1st and 10th and managed to pick up 4 birdies on the front 9 and 5 on the back which left me -28 for the tournament.
Next stop is Tantallon Castle over on the east coast, so I think I'll just get my driver to drop me off after I've cleaned the place up after you lot have been through it.

Celtic, I really like your course. I played 4 practice rounds and did fairly well. (-10, -9, -9, -2, I *think*) I absolutely sh!t the bed in my first tourney round, but hope to rebound in rd 2 tonite. Thanks for your hard work.

Just managed to beat you on your own course Even though I scored progressively worse with each round, -9, -8, -7, -5 got me to -29. It's a very enjoyable course. The greens are deceptive - birdie opportunities if you're close, but I think I had around three 3-putts from distance (usually on a par 5 or driveable par 4).

I'm interested in seeing how this tournament pans out regarding Pro/Master clubs finishes. Currently the 10th lowest score on Master club user is sitting in 15th place and the 10th lowest Pro club user is sitting in 25th.

I played with Masters for my third round and shot -6. First two rounds with pros I shot -5, -3. Having an absolutely horrible week, but it happens. This course the extra distance is very valuable for some of the iffy shots around the bunkers.

Never bought into this "we need to help out master club users" thing. CC-B seems to be the outlier then, in CC-A the 10th lowest Masters user is T44 while 15th for the promo mark goes down to T58. In CC-C 10th Masters user is T30 and CC-D they are also T30. For Pro clubs in A the 10th lowest is T11 while in C and D they are T12.

Went from T8 last week to T94 this week, just -24 for the tourney. Never could get much going - the course just didn't agree with me! I never really found a way to score on the par 5 9th, and played inconsistently all week. And to be clear, I found the course challenging and fair - it is a quality course! Well done Pat! Congrats on the tour slot, it's a worthy stop! Next week is Tantallon Castle and if you haven't played it - you're in for a treat. It's another great course.
