Will Q-School have the wind speed displayed? And while I do play with Master clubs, I will probably be using beginner clubs on the last round. This is to ensure I qualify no higher than CC-A. I simply cannot compete without the wind speed. I know, I know, you don't have it on a real course. Well, guess what? This is NOT real golf. In real golf, I can feel the wind in my face. It's just a bit different than looking at a gauge. Wait, I take that back; it's a LOT different than looking at a gauge. You get a feel for it. Sure, I guess I could get a feel for the gauge, but it's just not very fun (to me). And that's why we're here; to have fun.
Personally, I think eliminating the actual speed is kind of ridiculous. I've seen the scores on the exhibition event and they look just about the same as TGC 2 scores. Maybe a bit higher (total strokes), but nowhere near like real golf. I could see eliminating the actual wind speed for the PGA tour tier, but for everyone else? Please. People are going to get unrealistically low scores no matter what you do. It's a video game. I isn't (and can't be with aids on) real golf. You want realistic scores, go to the True Sim Tour.

It's not about realistic scores; it's about a realistic process. In real life, you wouldn't know the exact wind speed. You'd know "this breeze is strong".
The wind gauge is more than sufficient. You get a good sense of whether a wind is a slight breeze or a stiff wind.

You get a good sense of whether a wind is a slight breeze or a stiff wind. And I'll say it again. This. Is. Not. Real. Life. It's a video game. And my question is still not answered. I expect there won't be wind speed in Q-school. Which means I can probably use Master Clubs all the way through.

I haven't used the wind speed in several weeks and have no problem scoring in the -10 to -14 range depending on the course. Half way is 12mph...you should get within one or two mph if you're eye balling it. Just played in windy conditions on St. Bedes and went for -12...no wind reading. Just takes a little practice...you can do it.

I've actually had more fun WITHOUT the wind speed being shown. I respect what you're saying, however. It really IS a game and meant to be enjoyed by however you see fit. If I can turn it "OFF" for Q-School, then I will seriously consider doing it. I wouldn't like not knowing the direction, but I feel with no number and the meter still showing "fullness" it's still manageable. I'm with you, though. Have fun playing the game how YOU want to play it. If I want super realistic scores I just go play real golf.

IF I was that good I would take it as a challenge. It's not where you end up, its how you got there.

The information is in the circle. Look at how filled it is.

Can I call it semi-accurate guessing, Bob? I can get it pretty close and I really enjoy playing without the number now. Once it gets 14+ I'm beat, however.

On average humans overestimate wind by an average of 40%. When you get that good they need to make you play left handed
