A little lower turnout, but I won't let that diminish my achievement of finally getting a victory! (Of course the points aren't finalized yet, as per usual). Hoping for a little higher turnout at Raynor Farms this week, as I haven't seen it used in any societies anywhere recently. We'll see if home course advantage is in play. I switched to ps4

The answer is no, home course advantage will not be a factor this week. After a strong -7 in round 1, I could only muster two 67's in the last two rounds. In the final round I accumulated a double on the 2nd after hitting in the creek, and a bogey on 8 after shortsiding myself in the only place you can't miss on that hole. So much for strategic playing. Had fun following the ghosts of the above listed players around in rounds 2 and 3. A couple of holes saw a variety of different routes to the green by each player, which makes me happier than anything else.

As you can see, I absolutely sucked in round 1. Thought I'd righted the ship with my swing recently but things fell apart this week. Struggling to break par is frustrating on a course where I was hitting nothing more than an 8 iron into any of the par 4s... The answer is no, home course advantage will not be a factor this week. This is in need of an update, and of course it's a busy week for me. I'll put together a list of courses for kvand to review by the end of the week, hopefully. After the major I will look to pick up the pace and play 3 rounds per week, with a lot more 1-rounders, and a few weeks with a 1-rounder followed by a 2-rounder. I just have too many courses that I want to get through before TGC 2019.

Well that was quite a closing 9. Through the first 27 I played about as well as I have in awhile, just scrapped my way into the clubhouse after that. I cleared the av.fc hurdle, so hopefully that is enough.

Ok...for all you Original Society Golfers!!! I'll be added some new events to the schedule later tonight. Looks to be some more 1 and 2 rounders coming on, what I am sure will be fun courses. CLV has not dissapointed thus far with course selection. So, I would expect much the same as we move forward into the society's (at least for PS4) inaugural season. Stay tuned!!!

Thanks for doing this as I am new to this society on PS/4. I've played a couple weeks now and enjoying the courses as some other societies seem to play the same courses, just rotate them.

On the PC side, looks like a newcomer, hlswinger, has swooped in and is going to grab the major out of av.fc's hands by two strokes. What a turn of events! Apologies for the lack of more frequent and interesting updates here, but it's been a busy few weeks at work, combined with some single parenting at home. A perfect storm. Here are the next 5 venues we will hit up over the next two weeks as we pick up the pace in the lead-up to TGC 2019: Royal Alden Links The Greens at Old Rasputin Emerald Lake GC Castlebay Links on Barra Isle The Pyratone Club

I played probably 12 holes or so at Royal Alden last night, and decided to finish my round later. At some point during my work day today I remembered that it was Tuesday, and that the event ended last night. Oops. I blame walking around all day in the heat at Chicago Golf Club on Sunday with damaging my brain and making me forget what day it was. I promise I will finish the other events this week!

I have been slacking very badly at keeping updates going for the PS4 group. I apologize for that. I'll try and get updates out more regularly moving forward. I see our numbers have been down the last couple events and have to wonder if the lack of attention I have given to this lately is the cause. Hopefully we can turn that around and get some new players along with our initial group.

My participation has been sporadic because I've been busy scoping out the competition in the Survivor Design Contest. I'm just about done with that, so I should be playing more regularly in the coming weeks.

Hopefully we can turn that around and get some new players along with our initial group. I'm going to guess it has more to do with people looking forward to 2019 and abandoning TGC2. My main thing is just trying to establish a consistency with the society so that people are familiar with the name and view it as a stable society, so when 2019 drops and everyone has the new game excitement going on, people will seek out our society first.

So I got a tip that a recent member in the society may be a straight shooter. I followed the player for a round, and this player was quite accurate, although not a great player in many other regards.
I'm certainly no expert in spotting a straight shooter, though, and this being a society to shed light on great designs, I'm not all that ambitious to really go after a straight shooter, either. The player in question has no TGCT profile, no HB profile, or Steam profile matching the user name, so I can't contact this person.
Anyone have any preferences in how I handle this? I'm probably fine leaving the player be if they aren't dominating the events, but I will also ban if anyone feels this player negatively affects their enjoyment of the event.
