Season 2 is now underway on PC for the old CLV society, now under the name The Original Golfer Society. I am seeking PS4 or Xbox collaborators, for anyone interested.
Format: - 2 rounds per week, except for the occasional special week or major week - 2 rounds at one course, or one round each at 2 courses - Will be looking to hold a few majors per season, purse increases may happen depending on participation.
The first event is now available, 2 rounds at Greenbrier CC. The event runs from today until May 5th. Week 2 will start May 6th, and I will announce the course this week.

Interesting. It would be great to get this on all consoles and try to build up a following for the next game. Would the collaborators have any influence over course selections?

Yeah, I'd be willing to collaborate with anyone on PS4 and Xbox who wants some say in course selection, to a degree. In general I try to avoid just-released courses to avoid overlap, so I go off my 100+ long list of courses to play that I've earmarked over time. Right now when I have time I will usually go through 4-6 courses at a time on my list and play the first 3 holes. From that impression I then determine if it's a course that I want the society to play twice, one that I want to play just once, or one that I don't think will work well for the society. I would gladly submit these courses to collaborators and get their input, as there are plenty of courses to go around.

Courses are set for next week, which will be both a two course week, and an RCR week. At the risk of being redundant for those playing in the PGA, I have one round set for Quail Hollow. We are one tee set up, though, so it might be a different experience and a little more scorable. The second is an oldie but goodie, Hobble Creek. The first round runs Sunday through Wednesday, and the second is Thursday through Saturday, so be sure to get your rounds in on time.

We had a name show up on top of the leaderboard for the first event at Greenbrier CC that I hadn't seen before (I don't think). marrww basically lapped the field. Nicely played! As of right now there should be two more days left to get in a round at Quail Hollow, followed by Hobble Creek. I had a rough start at Quail, before getting it together for most of the back 9. I was at -5 when I put two in the water at 17 on my way to an 8. I won't be contending for that one, needless to say. Next week I will be taking advantage of my perk of being the course decider, and we will be playing the 3rd and 4th pins at my latest release, The Ross Club of Detroit.

I've been absent the last couple events. I hope to be back at it next week. I got completely owned by the greens at Ross Club my first time around so I'll be looking for some payback.

I swear the goofy start and end dates for societies in this game are going to drive me crazy. I'm almost positive I set the first round to end May 8th and the 2nd to start May 9th, and yet it says the 2nd round doesn't start until tomorrow. I guess everyone enjoy the day off! Another good round by marrww. I didn't stand a chance after my blowup on 17. I finally made the move this morning to switch out my Xbox 360 controller for a PS4 controller. I tried my first round with Tour Clubs, and while it was a definite improvement, I slowly started yanking shots way left as the round went on. I think I will have to stick with Player Clubs, but my accuracy might be slightly improved with the new controller. Let's see if that gets me back in contention at Hobble Creek.

I spoke too soon on the PS4 controller. It's just as bad if not worse than the Xbox controller. I feel like I had to play a miraculous round and hold it together just to snag the -6 that I posted. Don't want to speak too soon, but @ab1980 might take Hobble Creek with a -14. Well played.
The dates are screwy again, so Hobble Creek ends tonight, and Ross Club of Detroit starts on Sunday, so enjoy another day off. I think the dates on next week should be right, 13th-19th.

Officially abandoned the PS4 controller after going +3 in 4 holes during my second round. After the switch back I was able to salvage a -1 round. Looks like we are up to 6 players for this week, a new record! Here's the first 3 weeks recap. Next week we have another 2-rounder at icyken's Lennoxtown Scotland

The event at Ross Club closed, and the event at Lennoxtown is now open, so it looks like we might have secured a few of the good hampsters. Points aren't tallied yet, but it should be a good bump in the standings for the event winner av.fc. The in-progress leader gemini did not finish the 2nd round apparently, giving up what appeared to be a surefire win. I've added another two-rounder next week at Massara Golf Club. After that event I have a few things potentially planned. That will give us 6 events so far, and I believe you need at least 8 events to hold a Major, so some point after week 8 I am planning a 3-round major event at Pitt Field Club. The other idea that I would like to float and have been playing around with on my own is a limited club event, likely a putter and 3 clubs of choice. This obviously can't be enforced and will be an honor system only, but it could be fun. I figured that a fairly generous course such as the Old Course would be a good host. Following other ghosts around would be fun, as well as broadcasting the round. I don't know if my computer is running Twitch optimally at the moment like my PS4 did, so tbd if I could broadcast or not. Ideas and thoughts are welcome.

I was trying to start a society on my own but it seems that it may be hard to get into the nice. So, if this would go to PS4, I would be interested I helping where needed.

I had TGC1 on both PS4 and PC because it was cheap), so if you were interested this would basically be the process: 1. Create The Original Golfer Society on PS4 2. Set up the schedule and format details exactly as I have it set up for each event on PC, which I would detail either here or in a private message 3. Weigh-in on my list of upcoming courses to set up future events in the schedule 4. Update the post with PS4 results after each event Does that sound like fun? Or too much work?

I'll get on tonight and see if can just change the society I started to "The Original Golfer Society" I haven't started anythign on that yet nor do I have any members...so shouldn't be a problem. I can redo the event list ( just let me know what courses we will play. I already have $$ (Not much) in the society bank, I can add more fo needed. I may need help with the easiest way to update the furm posts with the results, but I'll figure it out. I'll be on the game around 8:30-9:00 (usual time every night) and get started.

I've changed the name of this society once already, so you should be able to. It's in the 3rd menu, under Society Settings. Here are some screenshots of the settings for next week's event if you want to set it up before Sunday. The only screenshot that I didn't take was for Game Settings, where everything should be set to Any.
