Had a nice bounce back in round two. Shot a 65 -9 under now. Need to maintain that pace.

R3: 65(-7) -21 after 3. Steady as she goes. Keep this up I'll be knocking on the exemption door. R4 will no doubt slam it in my face now.

I won’t win any tournaments if I throw away rounds. Rd1 and 3 were 71’s with a 64 and a 67 in between. That’s frustration right there. Finish with a -15 and the feeling of what could have been... Everybody now!....*sigh!* lol

R1: 66(-6) Must have had four birdie putts stop an inch short. Very frustrating. Pin set 1 is decent. Pin sets 3 and 4 are a different kettle of fish entirely if my practice rounds are anything to go by. Right about pin set 4 at Sekhet, no easy putts, not that I'm a great putter, to begin with, lol. +1 front nine back nine a bit later. R4 (E) and lucky at that. -15 for the tourney. Seven +20' first putts, 3 +10' first putts, 22 putts

Rounds 2 and 3 produced some terrible golf 2 Triples in R2 led a +4. Started meh in R3 even through 9, 5 straight birdies looked to be putting me on track then another triple and ended on -3. Very disappointed to be -7 through 3 after my R1 -8.

Really great course! Easy 5 stars from me.
First round I shot 5 over but I felt close. Second round I was -2 and on the 18th green in two... somehow managed to 4 putt for double bogey to finish 72! Felt hard done by to say the least. Moving day was exactly that! Shot my first round in the 60’s with a 68 and only ONE BOGEY!! Definitely felt like progress. I’m using strictly Pro clubs and it felt like I hit every fairway this round which is a plus! Final round was going steady before hitting it OB twice on par 3 on the back 9... cost me the round and cost me my tournament score but boy it felt good to be in competition and I can’t wait for next week!

R4: 66(-6) Total: -27 Very, very happy with that. Been four steady, consistent rounds with confident ball placement and good wind/elevation compensation. Have also enjoyed the course. The tents with the "finds" tables especially. Great detail. Now the wait for that chap on the door to be answered. . .

I played my PR round on Usui Ogawa for my return back home to CC-D. A relatively easier course than I played last week in CC-C and the US Open qualifier and looks like a course along the lines of my own courses. I quite enjoyed it, now just to transfer my PR round to the tournament.

Glad you enjoyed it! Most important thing to remember is to plan where you want to put your ball on the green- they are rather slopey, but if you leave it in the right spot you can make some relatively easy birdies.

Glad you enjoyed it! Most important thing to remember is to plan where you want to put your ball on the green- they are rather slopey, but if you leave it in the right spot you can make some relatively easy birdies. Yeah I found that out with a couple of shots, one pin had a slope about 4 yards in front of it and I think I just caught the top of the slope and it rolled back to about 10 yards from the pin. Another one I overhit and it and it proceeded to roll back towards the front of the green. But I did manage to get a few shots close to the pin which left me with an easy putt. There's not too much to trick players although some tees I took the safer 3 wood shot. I did come up short on the 18th because I misjudged the elevation and 13 mph wind even though I went up two clubs, probably should've took a bit of loft off it. I enjoyed the course, not too challenging on the fairways although my view on that might change when the tournament starts.

Well, I knocked at the exemption door and as expected, CC-C slammed it shut in my face. Swear I could hear sniggering from behind as I slipped away.
Still, a good week.

Pretty good PR1 at Usui Ogawa with Igolfbad. 3 3putt greens didn't help. R1 tomorrow. Some tough greens on this course!
