My apologies to all for these questions. I'm a video game golfer, not a REAL GOLFER. My questions are as follows: I'm in the first CC-A event and currently in 4th place after round 3 (great possibility to make top 2, not bad for my first year here and first event I think). My questions: 1) What does an "exemption" mean and how does that benefit me? Can it be used against me in any way? 2) It seems that after doing a little research, an "exemption" will bump me up a tour, which will (I guess) add me to the web.com tour. What are the benefits of moving up or down a tour? (Better prize money, WGR ranking?) 3) Regardless of whether I move up or down in tours, do my winnings, ranking, etc incorporate ALL tours throughout the year?
Thanks for the information fellas. Loving this so far.

An exemption is given when you finish (usually) in the top 10% of the field in your tour. It means you move up to the tour above for the following week, where you need to make the cut (in PGA/Euro/Web) or finish above the strike line (in CC) If you do that, then you get a permanent card for that tour. Rankings incorporate all tours - the higher the tour, the more ranking points you can receive - and hence the higher WGR you are likely to get.
A strike is when you have a bad tournament - miss the cut (PGA/Euro/Web) or finish in the bottom 1/2 of the field (CC) - you get one strike for that, or two strikes if you are below 100th place. 5 strikes = demotion to the tour below. But if you make a cut / finish top half in any event, it clears all your strikes.
Not playing an event now affects nothing - you only get strikes etc if you hit a shot in a tournament.

In an expert's opinion, is it "better" for me to be a top 10 player on the CC-A tour or a top 40 player on Web.com tour, and why?

The higher up the WGR you are the better your chances are of getting invites to majors and of course the more money you win on THAT tour. Ultimately it comes down to what your goals are. Do you want to be a top player? Do you care? If not, then it probably doesn't matter what tour you're in. But yes, there are definite advantages to being in the higher tours.

No, your winnings on CC-A would not follow you into Web (at least I don't think).
If you are good enough in the game to move up, then move up. I don't believe there is even an option so unless you intentionally tank in here or in Web during exemption, you will be moving on up. It is the progression system that TGCT has designed to keep everything flowing and competitively fair. If you ever get to a tour where you are just having trouble making cuts then you can always drop back down. Good luck man.

I appreciate the kind words Heman. Trust me, I'm moving on to bigger things. Hope to get an exemption, next tour would be on Web and then make the cut and it seems at that point, I'll have my Web tour card. Goals man, goals! Have a great weekend.

No one pays attention to the money list for CC. Too many good players earn exemptions and move out of CC for it to mean anything.
In the real Euro Tour, the money list doubles as the standings, but here, the Euro tour is just another step in the ladder.
For purposes of TGCTours, WGR is king, and you can earn more WGR points by playing higher levels.

Continuing my downward spiral as A. I can't master a straight swing B. When I do I can't master a tempo and C. I just starting to play my rounds after some drinking.
I don't know how people have consistently mastered a swing with Tour clubs on this but kudos to you.
And I'm sticking by it that I'm living and dying by the Tour clubs.

I’ve had a frustrating week. Couldn’t hit a cows arse in Cc-A where it counts but made the cut on Web and Euro comfortably... typical!

Tell me about it - I'll get a strike on CC-B......but then played R1 of the CC-Am event and slotted in a nice albatross, and have holed all sorts of putts on the one round of the World Tour at Merion that I played . Why couldn't I do that when it actually mattered.............

Actually, my 4R total in the Web will be good enough for an exemption :/ That’s with the worst round of anybody in the top ten as my R2 by 2 clear shots
