As much as I hold Abrams responsible for his actions in Iran-Contra, the "gotcha" questions are pretty easy to come up with on someone like him. It was actually a pretty low brow question. She can do better. Nah, his response alone shows how non low brow that question was. His must have felt extremely uncomfortable for him to say that a fact about him is a personal attack. What would have been a better question?
People who are too young to remember the 80's aren't going to know who he is unless Democrats bring it up.
It should be newsworthy that Trump has someone who was involved with some of our most shameful modern interventions in Latin America as his envoy to Venezuela. Seems like we're rushing in to find a way to take the moral low ground

I'd like to see her frame her questions in a way that are not always in attack mode. We'd be better served with questions about our present plans and actions in VZ. I'd also grill him on what specific duties Mike Pompeo has requested from him. And someone may have already asked those questions in those hearings, I did not watch them. I just have a few news clips to go from for this. What a horrible situation for the VZ people though. Maduro is an assh0le. No true leader of a nation would prevent his people from getting desperately needed supplies.

Although I still believe these questions to be effective because it gets right to the point and they're much easier for everyone to understand. With regards to the comment about her "tweets about Jews" you're dead wrong to put it that way. She was just stating a fact about the Israeli lobby. It's not anti semitic to tell the truth about AIPAC. And let's not forget that Israel today is an apartheid state.

Politics is a gritty game. Nothing immoral about how you expose a supporter of genocide.

The US "foreign aid" is littered with AR15's for opposition militia, as proven last week. Maduro has every reason to reject. You're swallowing the prelude to Iraq pill, Jimmy.

Not sure if I'm dead wrong on that either... if she was just stating facts, she wouldn't have apologized. She would have doubled down on it. We all know what she meant and she knew too. All good though. She proved that she can own a mistake if need be. That means something. I have absolutely zero desire to get into the mess that is, has been, and likely always will be the Israeli/Palestinian issue. They have been going at it for so long that no one cares about why anymore. They both need to stop attacking each other, look around and find some adults then agree on something that stops the madness.

Israel are still illegally occupying Palestinian land and are ultimately trying to annex the whole of Palestine. I can assure that maybe hundreds of millions worldwide still care about how the Palestinians are being treated. Israel has passed law to oppress Palestinian people living in 'Israel' and are looked down upon as a hinderence.

Israel is a disgrace. How can a people suffer what they went through in WW2, then do exactly the same thing to the Palestinians...
America is simply the Israeli military wing.

Pretty sure I’d be labelled a typical liberal “anti-semite” by Israeli apologists + supporters - it suits their agenda to do so.... but questioning the Israeli state and condemning its actions against Palestinians does not make you a Jew hater.

This is the outcome when people believe and are taught untrue things. Religion is so obviously false that three of them (using major labels here while understanding that there are many, many, many different branches of them) all believe in the same god and consistently fight with each other over "holy land" and "holy scripture."

Hasn't happened yet but...
"I just had an opportunity to speak with President Trump and he’s prepared to sign the bill," McConnell, R-Ky., said on the Senate floor. "He will also be signing a national emergency declaration at the same time."
So don't pass the bill therefore DT owns another shutdown. Why put our nation through a court case over his vanity wall?

Cause if he doesn't get his "win" he will be afraid of losing the 2020 Election. And more importantly, Hannity, Ann Coulter, Rush, Alex Jones and any other lunatic conservative talk show host who would become upset with him. He is all about "winning". Using a national emergency declaration to build his Wall, will also set a very dangerous precedent. A democratic president in charge could declare an emergency with every school shooting, climate change, or anything else he/she sees fit. The Constitution was written for a reason and whoever is elected should follow it as intended.

I especially found this to be a perfect representation of DT....
Democrats also pushed unsuccessfully to include a provision to provide back pay for federal contractors affected by the recent shutdown. Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., told reporters Wednesday that Trump wouldn't sign the measure if the provision were included.
Whom is shocked by that?

Not paying contractors is right in Trumps wheelhouse. It’s only morons or the super wealthy that supports him.
