So it turns out that the newly self appointed "president" of Venezuela, Juan Gauido is only known to 1/5th of the Venezuelan population. He is litteraly more widely known by Americans than he is by his fellow people. He studied at the George Washington University and was tutored by a former director of the IMF who taught him private business etc.
Imagine if the this no mark did actually take power through US intervention, how long could it last, realistically? The majority of people in Venezuela are clearly pro Maduro, surely we'd be seeing an uprising/revolution not long after - especially with the Venezuelan military being pro Maduro, too. It would be an absolute bloodbath.

Cause if he doesn't get his "win" he will be afraid of losing the 2020 Election. And more importantly, Hannity, Ann Coulter, Rush, Alex Jones and any other lunatic conservative talk show host who would become upset with him. He is all about "winning". Oh, Trump would not be unique in this regard. I'll post a video below. Using a national emergency declaration to build his Wall, will also set a very dangerous precedent. A democratic president in charge could declare an emergency with every school shooting, climate change, or anything else he/she sees fit. The Constitution was written for a reason and whoever is elected should follow it as intended. This was exactly Nancy Pelosi's response. And she is right. Here's that video about Republicans and shutdowns.

Trump calling a national emergency regarding a wall is the equivalent of a 7 year old calling 911 to get help with their homework. It’s absurd.

He did declare a national emergency today.... i thought we were supposed to get phone alerts when there was one of these? Lol.
Anyways, Democrats can look at the silver lining... a precedent is now set for gun control including the ban of automatic weapons, infrastructure, climate change and healthcare declarations, as well as an open road to pay for it all by going around Congress and taking money not allocated for it.
Traitor continues to make a mockery of the Constitution. The GOP is spineless when it comes to standing up to him. Conservatives have gone the way of the dinosaur as the debt continues to rise.
Kentucky can do everyone a favor in 2020 and not re-elect McConnell. Kick him to the curb with the Traitor.

Lol @ this clown.
Call a national emergency and then say in a presser "I didn't have to do this". Well, then it isn't an emergency, is it?
Haha, he just ruined himself in any upcoming court case on this.

Here's an interesting question for Americans... Nationalisation of sports teams, yes or no?

He's been dead for 136 year's, yet he can still wind up far right snowflakes that much that they have to resort to this. Marx is as relevant as ever, at least in my lifetime.

Haha, he just ruined himself in any upcoming court case on this. He has the supreme court in his pocket, this is a done deal. The only problem with the next progressive president declaring an emergency to collect every gun or seize the wealth republicans is exactly that, the supreme court. Soon, Ginsberg will be replaced as well.

But they will ban assault weapons and require background checks on EVERY purchase. Both are fine with me but the process won't be.

Has there ever been a successful Marxist system in place that was sustainable for large populations, say 370 million people? Hell, has there ever been a successful Marxist system in place ever? As far as I know, there has been no regime in history that has implemented Marxist ideals completely. Therefore, it's just an unproven theory on paper, correct?

I wonder if anyone will ever do anything to stop the self inflicted genocide occurring in inner city black communities, because a better background check doesn't stop a street gun sale. It's amazing how the media stays so silent on that epidemic, and then one person gets killed in Hawaii and it's national news for weeks.

It's amazing how the media stays so silent on that epidemic, and then one person gets killed in Hawaii and it's national news for weeks. It starts with education and better housing. It starts with lifting people out of poverty. You're right that our gun problems in inner cities has nothing to do with gun control, and that illegal guns aren't really impacted by gun control laws. None of those people are the targets of gun control. Gun violence doesn't just affect our inner cities and poorest people. It affects everyone - middle-class America in urban, suburban and rural areas. The gun violence problem in America is multi-faceted. Availability of weapons is one of those facets. No one is arguing that gun control, alone, solves our gun problem, but that's a really bad reason to avoid enacting stricter gun control laws.
