DHOF Open results: www.tgcdesignerhof.com/tour-headquartersCongrats to Gemini (PC) on an impressive performance in our 2nd major of season 1. His -32 was 1 better than Steve2golf (PC). Yaters takes home the consolation prize on XB1, shooting -24. This week we get the Rdrucken0 experience with a mini event at Wailua Valley, then head off to Spartina for the main event. Remember, the mini events will be handicapped for this final stretch of the schedule. Both platforms have now reached level 10. A big thank you to all that have participated and especially those that were kind enough to donate to the cause. It wasn't too long ago we were in danger of shutting down on XB1, but you guys rallied and I really appreciate it. I'll be filling out the final schedule for season 1 this weekend, culminating in the DHOF Championship. gemini steve2golf yaters rdrucken0

I forgot to post this video from Pinehurst's event. I can't tell you how many times I missed the correct portion of the green by a few feet and it cost me a much more difficult situation that I ended up making a par save or bogey instead of a birdie.

I just missed 5 putts from inside 6'! That's not an exaggeration, I was terrible out there. But I would play this course a hundred times.

I agree, it's a great track, yep, the greens are brutal but they should be for a US open course, I enjoyed the battle, happy to break par in round 4. Btw Eric, on the ccc event on the main tour, I shot an 11 on a par 4, ouch. Finished +1 after the four rounds just above the double strike line, so the remaining 71 holes were pretty good for me, I'm happy to shoot par generally. The 11 killed me though, 3 very slow swings in a row into the drink, 4th shot off the tee into the semi, big slice into the heavy, 45 yards right of the green, fast pitch missing the green left, 3 putts as well, an 11, out of knowhere!

First hole burned the edge on a 20 foot birdie putt, second hole my birdie chip turned right just in front of the hole and ended up a few inches to the side, third hole my birdie chip bounced in and out and ended up a few inches to the side, fifth hole I burned the edge on a birdie putt just inside 20 feet. Burned the edge on an eagle chip on 6. Did manage to birdie 4 and 6 just because even I can't miss from as close as I was. Luck got a bit better later but I burned the edge on a couple more 20 footers and stupidly missed a 10 footer. Then I screwed up 18 badly off the tee and finished with a bogey for a -6 66 for the round. Kinda disappointing overall, bit better luck and I could be going into the second round competing for the lead on PC instead of just hoping to be on the first page of the leaderboard.
Also had a chip out of some light rough with a 93-97% lie that I hit P/P full and in the cone which went about 6 yards, which was weird.
Second round went a little better, had a few more near misses on chips before I finally made one. Eagled a couple par 5s, but my occasional slow downswing problem cropped up (the only saving grace with that is that usually when I miss in the cone it's to the left, so sometimes I get shots that average out to being just fine). Shanked one into the water trying to compensate for that on 14 and bogeyed. Lipped out from 8 feet for birdie on 15, missed a 10 foot birdie on 17. Finished with a 63, -15 for the tournament.
Always seems like there's a really fine line between me shooting like a 66 on a course and shooting a 58. Honestly, most of the time the rounds are almost exactly the same except I just miss a bunch putts and chips by inches in the former.

A bogey-free 67-65 for a -12 total. I missed a lot of opportunities on the greens, but I really played well, so it was very enjoyable.
Another great course! I'm so jealous of the designers that can sculpt land so naturally. I'm really struggling with that in my designs.

I'm just going to throw this out there, this is a nice course, but having played a number of courses like this, I just want to say that I'm really not a fan of the design decision to use lots of camber and no light rough. I feel like when I play a course like that the designer is standing behind me going "Ha ha, gotcha!"

Gorgeous course again, and if I had just made some of my putts on the front nine I could've posted lower. Fun event!

Hell... I was at -12 through 17 in the first round, 4 shot lead on PC, put my ball in the water on 18 and double bogeyed.
