This round could've been special, but I did WAY too many dumb things after starting really hot! Here's a little of how the round got started: Check out this lie on 14... I ended up making birdie! After the start I had, I would actually qualify this as a pretty bad round.

Now it's time to play: How many putts can Jives miss!
The answer is: 7!
I missed so many by inches, this one was painful. -11 but should have been -14 at worst. Love the course, just had nothing go for me on those greens.

I just can't seem to keep it together. After going +7 on the 17th hole in the 3rd and 4th rounds of the Web event, here I hit the first 14 greens in regulation, was -7 through 7, was -10 through 14. Then I have to save par after a bad drive on 15 and double bogey 16. Finished at -10. Ended up hitting 16 of 18 GIR (excluding 15 and 16), 11 of 14 fairways (again excluding 15 and 16 plus one where I rolled into the rough). 1.39 putts per hole, missed 4 or 5 putts inside 10 feet.
I'm hitting the ball really, really well right now, I just keep making one or two stupid mistakes per round and get a double or triple, and even when I'm sticking it right on the pin like I am today my putting is unreliable.

warhawk137 I'm in the same place. Feel like my ball striking is pretty solid, hitting a lot of fairways and greens, but my putting is awful and I can't seem to avoid one or two regrettable holes each round.

Rjwils30 Mini Event at Ollie Links Results: With 3 PC players finishing at -11, Big Slug came up with a huge win on the XB1 with his -12. Congrats Big Slug! Timbro_T, D4FFy & Jivesinator will have to settle for T2, but all 3 take home a consolation win on the PC. FULL RESULTSHopefully more fireworks at the Sandbelt this week. Good luck!

I definitely did NOT have my A game with my putter, haha. I hit 75% GIR and 72% FIR, and those numbers include the drives and approaches that just barely rolled off the fairway or onto the fringe. But my putting was atrocious! I only finished -6 on 11 birdies, and my birdie conversion was only 33%. Not to mention the birdie attempts that turned into 3-putt bogeys. LOL
Now, regarding the courses... I'm not sure there are too many other designers that undulate a plot of land better than Rjwils30. Furthermore, it takes real guts to incorporate that much sand into a project and make it look completely natural. Both courses are a masters class in large, sprawling bunkers. I can't even make a greenside bunker look right. Haha
Final gushing comment (by the way, I've played these courses before, I just thought this was the right place to leave my compliments), this is a perfect example of how to have a TON of fairway available off the tee, with several options directionally, where none of it is easy to hit. His angles and distance planning are superb.
I need to lick my wounds and get ready for the major. 👍🏻

Man, something about this course just does NOT agree with me. Played the front nine of the first round immediately after winning a society event on my own course, went -1. Played the back nine immediately after shooting a -6 at Erin Links from the tips (and probably could have been better), immediately duck hooked all my shots on 10 and 11. Managed to get it together and weasel my way to a 65 in the first round, but it really was not pretty.
Second round was going reasonably well except for a few putts that just didn't want to break and a really ugly bogey on 10, until on 15 I hooked my drive into the bunker, then took 3 shots to get out (including a very fast downswing and a very slow downswing that felt the exact same to me), and lipped out the bogey putt from 9 feet. Got the shots back on 17 and 18 but ended up with just another 65 for -14 overall.
That -33 on the leaderboard is absurd.

warhawk137 I will say I definitely had some random tempo results at the Sandbelt, too. I'm starting to feel like courses that have a lot of grasses planted seem to cause swing issues. I played Ocean of Memories just for fun the other day, and my swing was nearly unplayable, and that was directly following a 61-63 in a society event I played right before. So I know I didn't just get worse all the sudden. Haha My scores at Ollie and Sandbelt were mostly bad because of my poor putting, but on several occasions I was in a rough spot off the tee or had a very bad approach from a swing that had disastrous tempo. Just my observation. Certainly nothing against the courses. More to do with how the FPS might be affected by gorgeous plantings.

Website updated: www.tgcdesignerhof.com/societyAlso, we've reached level 10 on PC!Still quite a bit needed on the XB1 side.I'm going to add a couple more events shortly. Once we reach level 10, we can have our club championship (details to come) and then end the season and hand out the awards. I have some changes in mind for season 2. Probably take a couple weeks off to iron out the details.

Big payout this week for the Major this week! $1000 entry fee, 100% goes to the purse, IIRC.
