I'd much rather struggle on PC...feels more legit and like real life golf. It's no secret playing on XBox can help you sustain a level you can't achieve on the other 2 platforms. So...want an easy fix?...buy an XBox

I heard he switched over to XB1. It's so much easier than PC or PS4 that it's basically cheating. Some serious advice to TAGROCKET : maybe the step up in course difficulty from CC to Web is tripping you up? It may not be a lot of fun, but the only way you'll get better at the tougher courses is to play and practice on them. If you have time, try some of the PGA and Euro courses from this season (or even previous seasons). Heck, I'd recommend that for anyone in CC or Web who wants to advance to the tours above their current one. Good one Griff I just want to point out that Yaters is an Xbox cheater but I'm sticking to my PS4. Put us both on the same platform and I would whoop his ass, as you Americans would say. You need to cross over the pond Yaters for a head to head. You're all talk and no action. As usual Wagtunes is being dramatic. It's not certain that we will be going back to Q school. Even if we do I'm convinced that we will be keeping our world ranking. In my eyes this season really does matter. Everyone gets the issues you have but you need to let them slide and not put them in your mind. You do need to study the greens mind. That's essential do well on web courses. Dramatic? How is stating an almost 100% certainty being dramatic? But by all means, don't believe me. Go ask Scott Doyley. And so what if we keep our WGR, which isn't a certainty either? Your WGR isn't going to keep you from ending up in CC-E if that's all your capable of with the new swing mechanic. Point is, doesn't matter where I finish this season. If I can't get a hang of the new school when going back to Q School (which by the way I actually qualified for PGA the last time I played it) then I won't be staying in Web anyway. So as far as I'm concerned, which is all that matters to me, this season is pretty meaningless as far as moving up through the tiers. Even if I get my PGA card this season, which I have come very close to trying for, doesn't mean I'll be in the PGA when next season starts. Thus, I have very little incentive to practice my ass off like I used to and go out there and get my palms all sweaty like I used to. I just play these tourneys like they were testing courses. Whatever I shoot, I shoot. Now if you want to call the being dramatic, fine with me. I've been called worse around here. But my point was, which you seem to be totally overlooking, is that nobody here can determine why this person is struggling up in Web as nobody can get into his head to figure out what's going on up there while he's playing. Or is that being dramatic too? (I wonder if the day will ever come when I can open my mouth around here without being criticized for every little thing I say?...NOW I'm being dramatic)

Why are you considered cheating IF you use XB1? It's just kind of a running joke at this point. There might be some folks who legitimately think it's cheating, though. Personally, I prefer it because of the stick placement (compared to PS4), but there's not too much of a difference besides that.

TAGROCKET I could teach u how to flop an eagle from 40 yds or I could teach u how to pitch an eagle from 35-42 yds but alas I dont know how with an mouse oh I have tried unsuccessfully you might want to get some tips from the good mouse players I will try to summon them for you canthitstraight boomboom Brighttail and Im sure the 4th one will give u some tips he might not be in pga right now but he is very good andybarrell Appreciate the tag ab1980. OP: I struggled mightily with the mouse when I first started the game a year and a half back. I had a G5 Logitech gaming mouse from a decade ago. Cost me $50 back then and was one of the first ones with optional weights you could insert or remove. Apparently it didn't help me swing very straight (see my username). I ended up going on Amazon and purchasing the cheapest gaming mouse I could find. It was $10 at the time and I think it's still not much more than that. The mouse says Redragon I suppose that's the brand. Plugged it in and started using it right away, no extra software. I immediately noticed a difference in the new mouse versus a 10 year old one. If your mouse is a bit older, perhaps try a new mouse. A number of controller players have found the ability to swing straighter when just replacing their used controller with a new one.

Yeah, I'm cheating and intentionally missing the cut once in awhile and never getting into the top 25....don't want to attract any attention! There are a couple of dozen players on Xbox a lot better than I am. dh-nufc, I have never crossed over for a Euro event. I rarely play the courses ahead of time in practice, so I just register each week on the PGA. Besides, I have no interest in reading through the forum posts there during the events.

You know, with as little practice as I get now, and turning into a "par" golfer, what DOES a Webber do on this tour when he's pretty much seen his last cut made? I mean I guess I could just keep playing for the fun of it. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. And I really don't have anything else to do during lunch but play a nice relaxing round. But now that my game is gone, and pretty much for good, Am I just wasting my time playing on the tour? This is kind of weird after coming so close to getting a PGA exemption a couple of weeks ago (missed by a stroke). But there's no question. You have to practice to stay at top form, or at least at YOUR top form, or you're going to find that your game goes south pretty fast.
And the funny thing is, I still enjoy playing. I'm still breaking par by a few strokes which keeps me "respectable" but with cut lines no worse than 9 or 10 under on a tough course, well, you do the math. If you look at this week, I'm pretty close to the bottom of the cut list.
Maybe TGC 2 will light the spark again, though I doubt it. Life has gotten in the way. Have too much work to do and very little time for playing games.

A quick way to knock three or four shots off a round is to putt well, so my advice is practice putting. Driving isn't difficult in this game, anyone with a decent controller can do it, but practicing using a lot of fade/draw and three bars of loft really irons out any problems with driving, as the smallest mistake is magnified. Be prepared to hit a few into the drink, naturally.
Putting is the thing though - don't miss any simple putts and get a few long ones and the score comes down.
I only hope that putting in the new game isn't radically different. I've just got the hang of it, after coming late to the game compared to many.
I have some sympathy with Wagtunes. I too feel like I'm spinning my wheels waiting for the new game, but, the present game is still enjoyable and worth putting in a bit of practice for, and who knows how different the new game will really be anyway? Practicing in this game may well help in the new one - nobody knows.
