Hey guys, Been a lot of talk about not hitting 100% swings lately, heck even The Machine threw in the towel last week . My take on it for the PS4 is (feel free to disagree): I pause at the top, and I super-thrust on the forward swing, that takes care of any lag or didn't hit it hard enough issues. When I get a poor swing (It's a very rare occurence to not get any during a round), it is solely down to the stick not coming to a complete stop during my pause. After hitting the shot and seeing a less than 100%, I can "feel" that I had some movement or "sloppiness" in the stick at the end of the backswing, (usually sliding fractionally to the right, because I pull down slightly to the right in an effort to hit the ball straight). I bought a new controller, no change, tried a friend's controller, still the same. I have to admit that for a swing that is "so easy", I must suck big-time . I cannot move a stick half an inch properly, because of the "tempo" of my swing, I hit the shot and then my brain catches up and tells me it was a poor backswing, other-wise I would check my swing like Tiger used to do: On a good day it's a couple of 99% shots, on a bad day it can be as low as 90% and also on pitches and flop shots. Risk / reward shots for me have an added "fear" component for me, check out my worst ever tour swing, going for the big carry: At least I can say I am as good as The Machine at something .

I have this issue as well, particularly on short irons and wedges. It usually ends up being 91% for me. I've long given up trying to hit 90-95% on woods as it will either go 100% anyway or end up in the 70-80% range. I can go a few rounds without it happening but once it happens it usually happens more than once. I do also count to 2 when doing backswing to ensure I don't forward swing prematurely and then throw the stick forward as fast as I can getting a good snap.

About the same for me here, although I've stopped smashing my stick forward as hard as I did in the past. I see sub-100%-shots very rarely happening on my end, but if there is one from time to time, I normally "realize" immediately after the swing that it was my fault.

I have had very few (maybe 3-4 shots total this season) shots sub 100%.
I have modified my swing to pull back slower than in the past. I put a very small pause at the top, mostly do I actually try for a pause is when the course is laggy. That, in my experience, is when I have gotten sub-100% swings in the past. So I concentrate on a slight pause at the top on slightly laggy courses.

I too am in the "less than 100%" club. My best friend suggested that I play with the remote plugged in to the PS4, while this did not rid me of my bad swing it did seem to cut down the occurrence dramatically. Hail to the "Duffer's"

Maybe 5% of these are random and odd but mostly I did something wrong.

Thanks for the responses, thought I would use my one weekly practice round of next week's course, to tinker with a few things. Look at screen instead of controller, time the forwardswing a hair after reaching the top. Slow backswing down a touch, Less of a slam forward. This all resulted in, slightly less accuracy, ball going further left, (aim a tad right to compensate). Previously I would only loft to 1 bar on the driver, to ensure keeping it in the cone, may have to limit this to 1/2 a bar in the future. Only one hole did I have an issue on, 3 iron lay-up from mulch, boom - 90% , then the pitch shot that followed was 94% , this was the par 5 fifth hole at Green Yeti, it has water, plenty of trees and shadows, I'm still in the dark whether it was that specific hole, or my failings that caused 2 consecutive "duff" shots. These were the only issues through 18 holes though, I will continue to experiment.

This problem used to cause me a lot of aggravation. At one point I'd have about 3 to 5 nasty occurrences per rd. The way I solved it was to commit to a shot and then focus entirely on the head of the club at the top of the backswing. I DONT look at the wind gauge or anything else.
When the club nears the top it slows down and then I wait for two more small movements and that's my cue to flick the stick forward. Seems to be working as I've had only a couple occurrences in last 10-12 rounds.

I've only played less the n 20 rounds but I've found that if I hold my PS4 stick a different way I can get 90% pretty easy. Try holding whatever you have higher or lower.

I have finally managed to eliminate hitting shots at 90 odd %, check out these beauties from my last 4 rounds: My partial flops have also been acting up as well, the putter gets stuck in mid-air on the backswing, and sometimes it takes 5 swings to hit the ball. I think it's time for a new controller. Trouble is, this one is only 125 rounds old, it only gets used for playing TGC.

In my experience I have found on courses that are choppy (i.e. have a lower frame rate), if you hold for just a split second at the top of your swing, it does help.
