Hi all,
It's still quite a ways away, but my fiancee and I are already planning our honeymoon (July 2017). We have booked our trip to Hawaii (4 days in Honolulu, 5 days in Maui) and I'm already looking for activities. Obviously I want to get a round of golf in (which the fiancee has allowed...score one for me already!)
My first choice is clearly Kapalua.....either the Bay or Plantation course. I want to play the Plantation, but the extremely high cost is making it hard to justify. It's a once in a lifetime round, just wondering if anyone has ever played it and if it is worth the money? Or, if they have played any other courses in Maui that are worth checking out?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Played it once and saving up for another round someday. The bay course is good but to me sort of just felt like another course, whereas plantation felt like a new experience. Plus then you can watch the PGA event and can compare how you did. For a "budget" course, I'd recommend kahili... although it's not oceanfront so if you only get one round, you won't get that if that's important to you. Have played there a few times and have always had a really good experiences there. If your staying near kaanapalli, I don't mind the cheaper course there. Nothing special but if you tee off early there's usually no one else on the course and often I can tee off at 7 and be back at the resort by 930. Great to get an extra round in and keep the wife happy. I haven't played the Wailea courses but ive heard some that like them more than kapalua because they aren't as difficult
