I could not figure out how people would get this bug to occur... until today 
Here is what I did to get the 1 inch put and the penalty of the 1 extra stroke.
1) Started my 3rd round in the tourney and quit after 9 holes.
2) Next day I wanted to practice so I chose the same course outside the tourney
3) I clicked continue ... that is what you do not want to do! Although I was not in the tourney playing, it calculated my round as if I did, but I did not know it.
4) Today I went in to finish my round of 9 holes and I was sitting on the 18th with a 1 inch putt!
It really cost me about 4 strokes, because I was not taking the "PRACTICE" round seriously.
Moral of the story : NEVER NEVER NEVER, click continue outside of a tourney when the last time you played a course was actually in a tourney!
