Enjoying seeing the work so far from everyone . I generally don't post any works in progress. I quite like the element of surprise. I currently have nothing other than some concept work so couldn't post anything yet anyway. But I may join in... no decided yet. Interested to hear what folk think, do you prefer to be surprised when a course drops or do you prefer to see the course develop? Does it make you want to play a course more or less come release time. It depends. Especially w/ RCRs, I do like a good WIP to whet my appetite. Craig's Oakmont WIP and Royce's Oakland Hills WIP are great examples of watching courses come alive over time. Those made me want to get in line for a virtual tee time once they published. On the other side there's Arctic Fury, who occasionally teases, but when his release drop, it always seems to be like Christmas morning and I've got to drop everything to see what he's come up with next. As it pertains to the contest, I always say I'm not going to post teasers and then almost always give in an share one or several. When I do, I try to keep a few tricks up my sleeve that won't come out until I hit publish. As for my course, the good news is it was an active WIP when the contest was announced and the whole 18 was designed/sculpted already. In the stages of finalizing pins, planting and throwing in a few extras. And, on that note, I once again break a previous vow to not post a teaser of my course. May be a few tweaks to the final product, but this at least gives you the gist of it.

I feel like I am at a disadvantage slightly as I only started my plot tonight and I've only laid some foundation rocks/stones so far . Still almost 2 months to get there

so, totally should not be asking this, but how are you guys getting the pictures directly into the post without a link? tried using the photo option but it didn't work on my end.

thanks Griff, had been using the URL and not the "Direct" on the side. Flatten that tee box and drop the tee furniture!

so for my course i followed a completely different process than what i had been doing, as in I actually planned holes out instead of designing on the fly. the first part (after roughly putting in an outline of the course on the GNCD) was to draw a hole individually, like this: in my drawing, i would use different scales dependent on the hole (1 cm=10 yds for par 3's, 1 cm=20 yds for par 4's, 1 cm=25 yds for par 5's). next, i would do my best to try to recreate the holes from paper to designer. most of the holes are about as spot on as i could make them, with a couple exceptions where the sculpting or the water level didn't pan out and i had to make slight changes. here are the results of me trying to recreate the practice hole: this has easily been the most time-consuming project so far for me and i haven't started planting yet. thanks again Griff for organizing this contest and all the other ones under your name.

mrooola. Birdie- $10 Eagle- $25 HIO- $100 Head Shot- $priceless Head shots Jim walked away from the 7th hole with a birdie, slightly disappointed as he graced the hole, almost getting that illusive hole in one. Fate had decided though that this day would for all eternity be remembered as the best day as Jim shanked his drive and hit a fellow golfer in the head on the next shot. #believeinkarma #bestdayever Skickat från min SM-G920F via Tapatalk

Am I right thinking that is just the practice facilities? Offering a range of shots/holes to play? If so then it seems to be a very well designed one with lots of variety on offer
