Tim, for trader the best position is Big Valley, just outside Hanging Dog Ranch. Tons of game to hunt and many delivery locations nearby.
Also never spend gold on anything except new roles. Harvest that stuff like your name is Smaug.

I jumped back in and I have to play the story mode until I get my cowboy skills back.
Lots of good info from you guys, thanks.
I am going to try daily challenges but as I said, not quite yet. I play like a noob to the nth degree. Tried one online mission and got killed in less than a minute. Been playing too many non shooting games the past year.

Go defensive mode in online if you're looking for a quiet time.

Harvest that stuff like your name is Smaug. I haven't tried that spot yet. May give it a try but I suck at driving the cart in hilly terrain. Thats why I like the heartlands I can cut across open fields and not do any damage. Been kind of neglecting Cripps lately. He is even starting to ride me about it "i know you have your hands in other pots but don't forget about our business" So I just got back from an hour or two in the west and handed him a bunch of pelts and lizard skins and stuff. Should shut him up for a while lol. I've got him maxed out to 20 now and after I do this final shine run today should be maxed there. I did my 1'st legendary bounty today and was a blast. Some guy holed up in a fort. Had a lot of fun with it. Keeping my distance and using my rolling block with scope to pick away at them, and the occasional dynamite toss. (looked at Jimmy's saved stream yesterday and see he has exploding arrows. Me needs those. Need some more levels for that I think to unlock.) Took a long time, lot of enemies the rewards sucked. I expected a full level on my bounty hunter for that but not even a half. 3 more levels to go until I unlock the Caracara rifle. Just hit 47. And think I may have experienced a hacker. Which is why I shut down and going to restart. Saw a blue dot in a weird area in the South West, thinking he is hunting a legendary I go see what up. I take a look at the map and his dot is bouncing all over then disappears. So I go on my way, go to a fast travel. It wont let me fast travel, says I'm in combat. wtf. I haven't fired a shot in 30 minutes and certainly not at a person. Saw I was in offensive mode. Changed to defensive..still couldn't fast travel. Just got done the long ride from just outside Tumbleweed to my camp near Emerald. Gave Crips my stuff, logged off to rid myself of the cancer hacker or whatever it was. Going back in to tend to my shine now.

Hack for driving wagons in hilly terrain: Whip out a rifle and just aim down on the road ahead of you, the horse will take care of itself and even slow down when needed.

Or go into cinematic camera mode and just hold the button down. If you are on your horse and have a waypoint set while not on a mission, no need to hold down the button. You can even view the map while your horse continues to your waypoint. I actually use the map view a lot. Just need to be mindful of the red dots. Could be a snake, could be a cougar, could be an outlaw player. Lol. No idea why the game makes us hold the button while on a mission or on a wagon. The map view doesn’t work with the wagon but I’ll still use the cinematic camera while delivering moonshine so I don’t run over rocks and bust up the bottles.

I've been doing the aim and let the wagon drive and it works for the most part. It just wet farted on my last run now though. Got hung up on the roadblock and had trouble navigating the s curves heading into fort mercer. Lost half my load. Had to take the controls. Oh well. No big deal and Jesus

Level 40 + LOL I haven't made ten yet. Time for some grinding. I am that low because of all the online "hackers" Make sure you put yourself in defensive mode. I don't seem to be bothered by anyone when out doing my thing. One thing I do is look at the player menu when I load in. Make sure I'm defensive, restart my posse, make sure my camp flag is raised then look at the actual players in the session. If I see any red ones. I load into another server. Not even going to bother playing in the same world as the red gankers which are few and far between. Remember a few pages before I started online I had misgivings about it. Its been good. Also back a few pages I didn't think I would ever reach rank 20. Bit once you get rolling with your role or two leveling comes quick. I found the 20-40 to go rather fast.

Good to know. I played for a couple of hours yesterday and I saw only one player who may have been using a speed hack as he was running pretty dang fast all over the place. Other than that, I have been lucky I guess. Nobody been bothering me. It is much better than about 6 months ago.

I can't remember it all. The horse go to a stable. Look for an icon that looks like a horse shoe. When in there click the manage horses. I think a new one should have a star next to it.
Other special offers I think you can get from going to the lockbox in your camp and opening that. I know I have bunch of ammo, tonics, herbs and other sh%$ that came as special offers that are sitting in there for me to grab when I have to room to pick them up.
Other things you may be able to grab or view by opening the catalogue and it would show a price of 0, click claim.
