Round 3 ate me up. 12-17mph winds. $#%##@ That's all I have to say. Question, I know the course will be much HARDER in this wind... my question is "Is the course still playable?" I ask because I can think of a couple of holes where a huge headwind would be seriously hard to deal with. Were any holes rendered unfair?

<<Bizarre scenes here in the Web.com Press Tent, as English competitor Simon Morris leads a snaking 40 odd player strong conga dance, all singing "We are play-ing Friday,
we are play-ing Friday.....We are play-ing Friday, we are play-ing Friday.................... into the main arena.
After several figure of eights in & around bemused reporters & sponsor advertising stands, the growing anaconda makes it's way back out & Morris can clearly be heard shouting above the commotion...... "Fifteen under, baby.... In your face Frankie... Gonna buy me a peachtree.... Haaaaaaa! haaaaaaa!!>>
Apparently, the "Made The Cut" Conga went on well into the night Back at the hotel >>>>>>>>>>>>

I ask because I can think of a couple of holes where a huge headwind would be seriously hard to deal with. Were any holes rendered unfair? I wouldn't say that the course gets anywhere close to be labeled as unplayable in high winds, but some of the good scoring opportunities are definitely taken away due to them. It seems like the par 5s are always playing into a headwind, with the 9th hole being the exception. I'm drawing a blank on the hole number of the par 5 on the back nine (maybe 14?), but in all four of my rounds I was unable to get over just the valley/bunker on my 2nd shot due to the wind which forces a lay-up and a rather tricky 3rd shot to what is normally an easy scoring hole. This is all coming from someone who is going to miss the cut at -6, so it may not have had such an impact on the Web.com studs that are posting -10 or better rounds this week.

yep that's 14.
I was wondering specifically about the drive on 1, having an angle to the green on 4, drive on 6, 2nd shot on 11, sidewind on 12 would be a bear... that kind of thing.
I'd love 18 to be neutral or tailwind as I tried to allow you to get home in two going right.

What was the highlight of your round/tournament?
A split between my final round 63 and my second round that saw me shoot 66 with three shots for eagle left sitting on the lip.....
What was the low-light of your round/tournament?
That would be three straight pars to finish the tourney keeping me from posting a double digit score. Not much of a complaint with any of the rounds though.
What did you think of the course?
Old Beaver Creek played great, maybe a little on the forgiving side but I think it was perfect for opening tournament. I played all four rounds today in 5-13 mph winds that made for a bit more challleng than my practice rounds. The course and tournament definitely could of benefitted from multiple pins and set wind ranges for each round. Overall I really enjoyed the course. Thanks you to the designer for a quality course.
How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat? Thinking I will finish top 30-40, maybe? After Q-school I was just hoping to post under par rounds so any finish in the top 100 will be above expectations.

What was the highlight of your round/tournament? My first round was fun/fantastic for me (-10).
What was the low-light of your round/tournament? If you had asked me after round 2, I would have said the FOUR blown putts on round 2 that prevented me from repeating my rpund 1 score....but then things got worse in rounds 3 and 4 (especially round 3)
What did you think of the course? Very nice course. The greens seemed REALLY forgiving (but then I blew a number of putts in rounds 2-4). My winds were mostly 8-12 mph which was not a huge issue but would have been nicer to play in calmer times but I am not one to exit based on wind. I play whatever random winds I am given and usually play all 4 rounds in one sitting.
How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat? I think I finished all four rounds with about -26 (can't recall) but feel that it should have been about 10 lower, I just tanked as I got more tired. Oh well, c'est la vie. I wanted to both make the cut and be one of the top Canadians. As I know few people on here, I simply chose my goals based on nationality.
Loved the course, loved the tour, wish the next one was open now.

It's not unplayable, but the variation in wind gusts really played trickery on my approaches. I still had a blast playing it. I would never quit a round because of the crazy winds, since I find it challenging and just part of the game. I ended up finishing -3 for the round, but I was hoping for -8 to -10 to keep me in the running for top 10. Can't wait to see what round 4 has in store for me.

Played a very conservative opening round, didn't get to the pin often. Had a slight set back on the fifth hole where I found the bunker after my shot pulled up a little short of the green, resulting in a bogey. Pulled a birdie back on the next hole before a dry run would find my next birdie on the 10th hole and one on the 12th. My hope for the round was to get myself to 4 or 5 under and give my self a chance to make the cut, instead I was fortunate to make -3 with a birdie on the 18th.
Hopefully with the nerves out of the way, I can make a good run in the second round and put myself up the leaderboard.

What was the highlight of your round/tournament?
Well, there are 3 pending highlights. The first will hopefully be hanging on to the cut line at -10 with several golfers yet to post round 2 scores or any scores at all. I hope their rental cars are lost and they never make it to the course! The 2nd, if I make the cut, is the 2nd round -3 I shot where I was 3 over thru 3 holes thanks to some disastrous misfires. Clawed my way back to even and got to -3 which for now puts me right on the cut line. And the 3rd, is the final round 62 I shot, which for me was like dripping gasoline out of my bag and lighting fire to the course for 18 holes. If I can make the cut I think I'll really like where I stand at -27 when all is said and done for the 1st tourney of the year.
What was the low-light of your round/tournament?
The low light was watching my hard work from round 1 get flushed down the drain by terrible shots to start round 2. Such a waste and still no idea why I hit so many bad shots after playing a relatively flawless ball striking round 1.
What did you think of the course?
After playing Q-School and the firm, dare I say... concrete greens... it was nice to play a course that resembled more of a golf experience that I think we are all used to. Lots of variety, only a few holes where birdies were really expected, but several that you could get with some great shots and obviously a lot of people found them. The wind really played havoc with the ball on a few holes when it blew.
How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat?
I was trying to beat everyone! I don't know anyone else on the tour but I'm sure as we keep playing and similar skill level players keep ending up near each other on the board, some friendly rivalries will develop. I did see Paul Mattey and Jake Marvin's final scores and was happy to have passed them on the ps4 tourney board, but hopefully we all make the cut so it matters!

unfortunately no, I think the deadline has passed. you had to have the 1st 2 rounds in by yesterday sometime. I might be wrong, but pretty sure I'm correct.

Jules Powell is waiting in the clubhouse anxiously waiting to see if his final round 59 was enough to finish in the top 10....
