It was brought up that for season two that a nomination process would be encouraged for the finalists. Is this still acceptable? Getting out the official categories would be nice so the community can nominate players. The obvious categories would be players of the year on PGA, Euro, Web, TST, and CC. Also, Community member of the year and then Designer of the year. Also... any category I missed or any that may be added/nominated...? What do you think, Doyley?

have at it! Busy time for me at work and Ryder cup so having the community nominate those categories is a-ok by me. If you miss anyone glaring (ie community members) I can always add them in to the vote and explain what they did that you guys may not have been aware of.

If this is the place to nominate, ill start...
I'll nominate loughrey for community award, for all of his sweet tournaments in the community run events. He does LOTS of work for those of us who get to enjoy his events.
Also, as an honorary nomination, if I'm allowed to do so, same category... Edi_Vedder for running the RRCC and giraffe72 for his entertaining writeups and nice work on the spreadsheet for the same event. That's a great community tournament, for those that aren't familiar.

Wow!! First time I've ever been on any kind of a designers' list. Thanks for the recognition, Griff.

Wow!! First time I've ever been on any kind of a designers' list. Thanks for the recognition, Griff. You're a rising star, man. As a scheduler I look at A LOT of courses...you are definitely on my shortlist of designer that I look for new releases. El Tesoro and Tanami were brilliant. Just do me a favor and get back in the designer...

Not sure how you didn't add Crazycanuck1985 to this list. Perhaps we take him for granted, but for several months, Andre was churning out top notch courses at an insane rate. Just take a look at the number of tournaments hosted in S2. Denali, Humboldt Bay, Lions Bay, Kahiko Beach, The Nomad, Shaliath. Just a superb collection of courses.

I didn't include him because Andre should just have his own personal monument in TGCT. In no way do I want to discount him as a designer, but that cat is just a given.

Cheers for the shoutout griff, much appreciated. I'm thinking if it went to vote the only person voting for me would be my mom , but just being mentioned is nice, thanks brother.

Pffffttt... top 3 in the web design contest, last 3 courses all making the tour, and you certainly know your way around the editor. You're good, man...

Very much appreciate that @griff! Not sure I'd put myself in that company quite yet, as the resumes of many on the list (and a good few who aren't) are much more substantial than mine. I hope to get there one day and am humbled by the vote of confidence. Personally think Griff should be up community member and/or designer of the year between winning the web.com contest, organizing the CC Summer Showdown and all the stuff you do BTS. So, guess I better put down NASCAR Heat and get cracking on that Harvest project I've been pecking away at

Cheers for the mention... so many excellent courses this year from such a huge number of designers. We really do have many many folk who can produce a too notch course.
In fact the design community could have its own awards show, best newcomer would be insane! Should probably have a course the year vote... really tough one to shortlist though

Thank you for the kind words theiv, but I can't take the credit for the spreadsheet. The RRCC is very much a team effort, there's 3 of us who populate it, and the spreadsheet itself was set up by Dean - it's a really nice piece of work - before he went on to bigger things. It's nice to be appreciated though Loughrey is a shoe in for Community Member of the Year, the bloke is amazing! There are so many brilliant designers and they are the life blood of the game, but of the ones mentioned I think setmypath has made some consistently superb courses. I'd also like to mention mrooola as someone who has been very good at producing courses that are a little bit different and interesting to play.
