I've been away from the forums for a bit, so i guess you could say I've been under a rock. Is anyone working on a proper recreation of Hazeltine for the Ryder Cup? The one that I've played recently that has been around for a while, in all honesty, is not a proper recreation of the course. Was wondering if anyone had taken it on, or even finished it?

The TGCT Ryder Cup will be played at Midnight Sun, and the TST Ryder Cup will be at Oakland Hills (South) by Royce Brown. As far as I know, there isn't a version of Hazeltine deserving of tour play (in my view), and we probably wouldn't have played there even if someone had done a quality recreation: it's just not a very interesting golf course for our purposes. It's long, sure, but I have to imagine the guys here would obliterate it, so it's probably better that we're using a course that, while flawed (IMHO), will lead to more score variation and will make the matches a bit more interesting.

Thank you, sounds fair enough, though not on any of the teams, I'll have to check out Midnight Sun

The Hazeltine I played recently (had '2016 Ryder Cup' in the title) was completely subpar in nearly every way, I could not make it past a handful of holes, it was that bad. Having said that, Hazeltine is on my list for sure after that great Ryder Cup. Would be a rather simple course to map out, at least compared to the effort it took me on my last project. Pretty straight forward course, most difficult part would be the holes which touch Lake Hazeltine.

I'm kicking my self as I forgot to buy a yardage book while I was at the ryder cup. I would have shared that with you Royce. Like I mentioned on HB, the water table is going to be the issue as lake hazeltine sits about 30 feet below the course and there are water holes elsewhere.

Wow that strokesaver is fantastic, along with the Ryder Cup app there's more than enough info available to do the greens right I think. A yardage book always helps too......
