Hey guys. Asking for some aesthetics help here. I'm working on a new project, with a different approach. Sketching holes beforehand and working from a flat plot. Originally I intended using a Swiss or Rustic theme with some mist, but as usual I start working in Harvest theme as I think it's one of the easiest to work with in terms of surface and sculpting. Anyway. Added some autogenned trees and plants just to have a look and kind of digging it. So I'm asking for some help. Keep it Harvest or switch?

Vote Rustic! It is close enough to Harvest without being horrible ... one of if not my least favourite themes... so don't go based off my say. Oh no wait Autumn is worse

One of the characteristics of the Harvest theme is that it's very brown overall. There aren't any trees with deep green leaves, and there are a limited number of bushes.
I think that you need to embrace it and find a palette of grass surfaces that really accentuate the reds and yellows. Or, you could do the polar opposite and run bright, lush green fairways and rough, and lower the density of the trees a lot, so that the autumn leaves really stand out.
As with any theme, the planting and sculpting really go a long way towards defining the look of the course.
Ironfall is probably the nicest looking Harvest course out there. I suggest taking a look at that course for some ideas.

After my entry in the web.com finals I found the harvest theme to be really pleasant. For sure it's not bright, but some of the colours in the trees open a wide range of options. Go with harvest Ola

The Harvest theme is way way better than the Autumn theme. That picture that you have posted looks nice IMO. Like Patrick said, with the right grass colors and I think with the right lighting, Harvest can look good. I like the lighting you have in that picture. It seems to make it standout. I'd keep working on that theme for awhile, hell you can always change it later.

Thnx guys. I do like the colors in Harvest and where I live autumn is right around the corner so I might stick with Harvest as its in season right about when it will be done (if completed). Good tips so far. My boss out in the heavy rough at one of the local courses October last year. The palette is fairly similar to harvest.

Wow look at the rough in that first pic, almost looks real... ! I quite like the idea of the bright ground colours to contrast the trees. I kinda wish it was possible to go full on bright red/yellow with the harvest theme but it just appears a little drab to me. However inject some colour into it and could be pretty cool. I'm sure if anyone can make it look cool Ola can

I'm messing about in harvest right now and liking the look so far. Think too the default sun inclination is set lower in the sky in Harvest, which provides a softer look on the lighting side that I'm enjoying while doing the initial layout. I'm in the same boat, though. Leaves are starting to turn in my neck of the woods, so working in Harvest makes since ... Just hope it doesn't take so long to finish that it will need to be flipped to Winter

Hello whoever might be reading.
I'm thinking about releasing a beta of my course. What I need is a lag test so basically if you are on ps4, Xbox or with a low end pc and want to help me, please let me know!
Thank you in advance
