Dox Tropical Beta front 9
The front 9 of this future course comes in just over 3600 yards. The greens and fairways are both set at medium firmness. Green speed will say Med/Fast on the game screen but at 154 listed on putting range I think they play slow. There will not be a lot of water on this course. In fact the front 9 has no water in play.
The course name will come to me when I figure out where this could be. It's an inland course surrounded by the mountains as a backdrop. Open to suggestions on where in the world this course could be. Many courses go with Hawaiian names, so I am looking for someplace different as a location.
This is my second official course and should be an improvement on terrain sculpting and visuals off the tee. My first course was a tough test and mainly focused on course strategy and complex greens. While I was happy with that course, the sculpting needed work to make it flow and look better.
The main goals of this course are:
Have a natural looking landscape
Tee views with good looks at the fairways, bunkers, etc.
Continue to improve on planting
The course right now has minimal object placement. Saving that for last. I also left a lot of trees and grass to save me object space. Most will probably be cleared, but at the moment I left thing alone so I can use as needed when the final stages are ready. The first 9 holes should not change much when the final product is released other then visuals.
The one thing I can use tips on is flattening of bunkers. They look good and much better then Ashford Pines, but I would love to get the bottoms flatter. Mainly more evenly flattened like I see on some courses. The issue I have ATM is when using a brush to flatten it gives deeper spots in some areas. I like to use combo shapes to make my bunkers so using the same brush to flatten isn't really an option. Any tips or links are appreciated.
Thanks in advance for playing and any feedback you wish to give.
Here are my pics that I promised. Just not good at it still.
