I am hot under the collar and just disgusted with HB for being apart of this.
Is it just me or do you guys feel This is a sham?
No disrespect towards the winners but honestly do you actually feel you are top ten?
There are some of the winners that speak for quality but there are others that well... I will leave off here.

That biggins' course was not selected against some of those others is a travesty. Particularly the last one. Those screen shots are indefensible.

I went and loaded the last one, it's a slightly modified autogen, took maybe 20 minutes.

I tried to play all of those this weekend. I only got through a couple and the rest I quit after a few holes. The one that was auto-generated, I didn't even get off the first tee. Not sure what kind of contest this was.

im just going to put this out there, we dont know for sure if HB had anything to do with selecting those courses, its not their contest. The contest is sponsored by "Today's Golfer". before continuing on the tirade against HB, it may be wise to wait to see who was actually judging this thing.
If indeed, HB selected these courses, then by all means, give em hell. But if it turns out that the magazine was responsible for the judging and the picks, then a few apologies would be warranted HB's way.
just sayin.

I am not saying HB was the judge, but by advertising and posting and shall we say hosting, they undermined their credibility.

It would be awesome if the members here had their own competition - I'm sure we'd get quality courses that weren't auto generated

We will also be having our annual designer, course, and player awards at the end of each season! Should be a lot of fun for the nominees and winners! More info on that coming later this year!

Something you need to realize. HB sees nothing wrong with auto-generted courses so long as it's not just generate and publish. If someone auto-generates, tweaks, personalizes and adds stuff in, deletes some stuff that doesn't fit, they see nothing wrong with it. Remember, their course generator has the auto-generate feature which they intentionally put in it. I'm not saying this is right or wrong. Just trying to get in their head, so to speak.
