Hello guys, I'm new to the site and just started playing the game a couple weeks ago. I really enjoy the course creation aspect of the game and was hoping to get a little feedback from the veterans of the site. I designed a 9 hole course called Achilles Alley and was hoping to get some feedback from you all on things I can improve on and things you like. I know its not anywhere near the level of some of the courses that have been designed by you all but i spent a fair amount of time on it and really think its a good start. I look forward to being active on this site and to joining one of the tours soon. Thanks guys. Aaron

Hey there, welcome to the forums Surprised you haven't had any replies yet... lots of folk on here keen to help, probably just bad timing, especially with No Man's Sky taking everyone's time There are some great videos available. Canucks 101 designer series, Scampii has done a series, and Scarpacci has a Designer Q&A thread in this section. All worthwhile resources. I don't have much time to play the game atm, the little time I have is crunching on my own course for the CC design contest due Sunday. Otherwise I'd give you some feedback myself. I'm sure you'll get some helpful folk before then. Otherwise, if you can post pics and/or description on the Completed Courses or Works in Progress sections that will get more attention normally. Good luck, keen to see your work soon

Thanks guys. I appreciate the help. Its fairly basic but I try to use the terrain im given and create holes from there. Its not a terribly difficult course but i like the way it looks and plays.

Ok here goes,
For starters I'd like to say it was a good first attempt or second, didn't really have time to play your other one.
Some elevations are bad some are good like the first hole, it was a bit extreme but I've seen worse tbh, But most of the course is well set out,
I was relieved to see it wasn't auto gen'd as that's what I was expecting well done lol.
Greenside Bunkers: they need a lot of work doing to them they need to be set lower, look at other people's courses and you'll see that the lip sits about a foot or more higher than the base watch canucks 101 series as that's how I learned the basics and fairway bunkers could do with dropping down a bit too but not as much as greenside ones, all that can be done using the terrain brushes seeing that you used them for landscaping you should be fairly good at it.
Fairways: these are nicely done but first cut is all over the place it looks a bit like a links course with loads of trees and they need to be more consistent some places looks like there is none and this makes it look rushed and horrible.
Tee boxes: like the different variations but they need flattening a bit and need smoother slopes going down hill.
Tee to fairway: not very realistic some of them as it goes over water and there is no access to the fairway put some bridges in, you might not think it's important but a reviewer will see it differently as you need some realism in the course imo anyway.
Set out: stay away from edges if you can but if can't be helped use some trees or bushes or lift the terrain up as in a couple of holes all you can see is gray under the water as this looks very poor.
Greens: very nicely done! but please don't firm them up as they are too small for f&f.
Overall: good challenge of a course needs slot of work but is a good start, keep it up i gave it 5.
Once again check out canucks videos there are others out there bathe is definitely a good place to start.

Thank you for the feedback. I appreciate it. You actually highlighted some of the things that I was a bit concerned about so its good to know that I saw some of the same flaws that you noticed. This was my first try creating a course, not using the auto gen which the first one was. So it was alot of experimenting with the various tools and ideas. I will definitely watch some more of the tutorials and hopefully my next attempt will be a big improvement. Thanks again.
