NHL 17

I like what I'm seeing and totally regretting not signing up for early access.  Anybody have extra PS4 codes laying around?

For those that have played the early access, I'd love to hear your impressions of the game so far.

So far it seems fairly similar to NHL 16 on ice gameplay wise.  Played a drop in game of EASHL and lost my connection about 5 or 10 minutes in.  They brought back licensed music for the menus but it's a bunch of generic pop stuff that doesn't suit hockey.

The ECHL teams are in it though.  And I got a Tuukka Rask player of the week card out of a HUT pack.

Overall it's fine but based on the beta content it just feels like more of the same from last year.

Created an EASHL club in NHL 17 beta on PS4... search for Jackyls in the club search section and jump in if you want to have some fun during the beta. Invite is open to all.

I joined.  Can't promise I'll ever play since I'm trying to power through Fallout 4 before No Man's Sky next week, but I'll check in every now and then.

Anyone know how long the beta runs for?

I'm not an ultimate team player. I do like the EASHL mode a lot though.

I don't tend to play HUT either.  I just do it to bring back the childhood whimsy of opening packs of hockey cards.  Never spent a dime on the mode or played more than a dozen games per edition but I still usually end up with a solid collection.

EASHL was a fun novelty for me at first but I never have enough friends to field a team so I end up playing drop in games with randoms and randoms tend to be no fun.  You either get stuck with puck hogs or in the old days players who used black guys with blonde hair and jacked up speed and hitting attributes.

Duke, Scarpacci and I played our first game as an EASHL club instead of just doing drop in and snagged a win. I saw you and McBogga accepted the invites but didn't see you online.

Not sure about Antonio but Duke and I are getting the game when it launches. I'd like to see what we can do with it as a club if you are getting it also. It's public so if you have some peeps you like to play with, have them jump in too if you're interested.

The cool thing with EASHL is that not everyone needs to be on at the same time. The game will search for opponents who have the same # of live players as you have. If there's only two, then you play vs two others with the rest of the teams being AI. I like having 3 or more personally, otherwise just do a drop in and invite which is what Duke and I have been doing when we haven't seen anyone else on the club online.

Seems funny that no one has talked about this game at all since before it launched.  I went in thinking $26.45 would be the price point when I'd finally jump on board and lo and behold it's on sale on PSN this week for $26.39.  Anybody still playing this?  Do we have some sort of EASHL team that I should be joining?  Does anybody have a bunch of Bruins in HUT that they're willing to give me?

I just bought it at one hell of a discount from Playstation Store. I'm still loading it.
