I am considering upgrade from win 7 to 10 by free upgrade (internet) route. has any one done this and did it allow tgc to work properly? kind of worried that it will be a pain to get some steam games working properly or at all..

No problems here with TGC (or any of my other steam games) and the upgrade to win 10 from win 7.

I have Win 8.1 with a very low-end graphics card (integrated Intel HD 4400). I generally get 20-25 FPS even on the lowest settings. I upgraded to Win 10, and the overall performance of TGC improved quite a bit, but my GPU (remember, it's pretty crappy) was really working hard. I did some course design and it was fine. I played a round and got through 4 holes. On the 5th, my GPU crashed.
I tried a few times to restart the game / PC and then resume the round with no luck. After a couple of hours, I reverted back to Win 8.1. That process was fairly simple.
Most people will have no problems with the upgrade to Win 10, and will actually see an increase in performance, but all systems are different. I'd certainly give Win 10 a try. You should be able to revert back to the old OS if you're not happy.

I waited for a while to upgrade to 10 afraid it would mess with TGC.... I finally broke down and installed it a couple weeks
Ago... Hate I waited so long ! Only thing I had to do is update my graphics driver . Everything else smooth
Really like the in game recorder , .... Windows ten has a lot of nice features ... Good luck if you make the jump

Just upgraded yesterday...no issues. Even got a little spike in performance as I can now hold 30-40 FPS when playing

Good to know, I will be upgrading from Windows 7 tomorrow so hopefully there are no problems. So far so good here(touch wood). It runs pretty slick and has some nice new features. Now I have the Pro edition..don't know how it differs over the Home edition. |

Well I upgraded and I can play TGC so that's good. Although it always crashes every time I exit out of it, so a bit annoying there.

Mine crashes every time I exit out of TGC as well now since upgrading to Windows 10...works great except for that minor annoyance
