Im still struggling which trees to use on a links course. I know there are none or a few trees on Links courses, so which tree should I use to make it more realistic?
Kind regards

The highlands theme is an updated, much better version of links that has a few trees, so I'd switch to that.

If you are talking British links course, then often out of the actual play area away from the coast you will get some trees. You quite often get thin wiry windswept trees, I can't remember which I've used on Royal Brumby but I think I went for the larger Elm trees and kept them far from the course. I would say that some of the bushes 4 or 5 times the normal size can work well as a clutch of trees... all over the British countryside you get huge bushes/tree masses that you cannot tell which bits are trees and which are bushes. I think that sort of thing can work well out of play. Tbh, most or all trees on the highlands theme look believable to me, just best to keep them away from the coast IMO, if in play but away from the coast is fine with me... trust what looks natural As for the course itself definitely use the Highlands theme and make good use of the bushes available is my advice.

Tnx for the reply...the reason I don't use the highlandstheme is that the linkstheme has a yellowish heavy rough which I like, this has to do with the lightning Im working on. Highlandstheme dont have that look, I can't explain it:). If I use that yellowish texture on highlands, it's not that look Im after with...ghehehe. Don't get me wrong...I truly love the highlandstheme, but Im looking for that kinda glance of the course and the shining of the fairways and heavy rough...wich no theme has like the linkstheme. I will have a look at the trees what looks natural. Tnx anyway.
Kind regards.

I switched to Highlands...I wish I had done it earlier... It realy looks much more realistic and more stunning with low lightning. Tnx.
