Please find my entry to web.com design contest. Theme: Highlands Par:69 (4x par 3, 13x par 4, and 1x par 5) Firm fairways, med/firm greens, 184 green speed. Based on a volcanic island in the South Atlantic, Three Sisters Island GC is situated in the shadows of the three long since dormant volcanic peaks which dominate the island landscape. Visitors and members alike will find a par 69, 6767yd length course which starts around the inlet of the island in the south east corner, before moving along the eastern and northern cliffs and then moving into the lower claustrophobic foothills of the volcanoes. The 17th hole then leads the player back down towards the openness of the inlet, before turning westward towards the clubhouse with the 18th hole hugging the inlet waterline. Key to scoring well are the short irons and wedges, so make sure the grooves are nice and sharp!! Not too much trouble will be found from the tee, but if you get out of position into the greens, you may well find yourself in 3 putt territory. The wise player will use some of the green slopes to get real close to the cup. Enough of my ramblings, tee it up and enjoy the three sisters. Hopefully I'll get some more photos up a little later.

Man every time I open the forums there are new courses... its like Christmas around here.. ha ha
Played this one just now, opening tee shot was beautiful with the "sisters" in the background... Thought that was a great look on this course... I opened with a par then proceeded to bogie , double bogie the next two holes,.... so here I sit +3 after three... the winds are howling anywhere from 17 to 20 mph on every single shot...I've been getting that a lot lately... I fought and clawed my way around this beautiful track coming in at -3 overall and I fought for every single shot... those winds made some fairways hard to hit at times but I loved every second of it...Its a thinking mans course...
I ended up with 6 pars , 3 bogies a double bogie, and 8 birdies, so I definitely got my moneys worth on this one.... Had a great time here
Great work Graham.... loved it
Man these judges are gonna have a time.... All four I have played so far just superb

This course reminds me of Sam-smorris old courses from way back there both pommies and have a similar design style Its designed narrow for web skills and not so easy pins, so was a challenge for cc player like me Bit rough around the edges but fair design/layout skills here going forward Nice terrain work and outlook, like the back drop mountains - will be a beast if windy you got the basic skills needed here to forge ahead and make some good courses
Thanks hoot i had a hoot ,played your ghost you were too good for me

A very enjoyable course. Very narrow and some interesting features. I didn't like the 10th hole for the reason demonstrated in this video :

A very enjoyable course. Very narrow and some interesting features. I didn't like the 10th hole for the reason demonstrated in this video : Like I said in my blurb at the top, using the slopes of some of the greens will get you real close, unfortunately @adam Hill you didn't heed my advice and ended up miles away from the pin Despite countless efforts in development I still haven't managed to ace that hole but have come so close so many times. I'm glad you enjoyed the course though and wish you well in the contest (not that you'll need it!!!). I know it's not as well manicured as some of the courses here, but as long as it plays well, that'll do for me until I develop my skills more.

I'm still learning, it's only my 2nd course so still rough around the edges, and again thanks for playing.

Only your 2nd course, nice job Hoot. I really enjoyed my round here, it's a little wild and crazy which is always a fun for me. It was definitely target golf, with many forced carries, so hitting it in the fairway was extremely critical. The course could definitely use a little smoothing around the edges, but that will come with a little more experience on the designer. One other thing to watch for is when you're doing steep drops is to try and avoid using just one brush and dropping the whole thing in a straight line, it just looks off, try to add a little depth to these to help them look a little more natural. All in all a very fun play and I think the 3 sisters (mountain peaks) were a cool look and created a great setting for the golf course. This was a fun round and although there is work needed, I really think its a great effort for a second course (far better than my second course). Good job Hoot and good luck.
