Italy winnin 2-0 tonight did surprise me but it shouldn't really in hindsight as I've always felt this Belgium team are overrated, ranked 1 in the world!?  Italy's performance was similar to that of a boxer winnin a fight from the ropes: counter punching & avoiding gettin hit, just. A nack in knowing how to win.. Typical Italian performance! With the quality of player they have I felt they'd struggle v a young Belgian side but their gutsy defensive showing deserved an impressive win tonight.. Having not qualified from the group in the WC 14 the Italians have bounce back in their step it seems.. Note to self,You can never write them off..  |

Well played Italy. Lukaku is hopeless and his replacement just as bad. I wish the sin-bin was introduced to football,as in Rugby - those Italian professional fouls in the last 30 mins are not punished nearly enough with a booking. Ten mins in the bin would cut them out of the game. Hold the back page... I actually agree with u for once cynical play exists a lot in football.. A sin bin ruling would certainly reduce it. |

Having seen most/all of the big teams now it really feels like a year more than most where the unexpected could happen. None of the big team have been very convincing (cannot decide if Italy were very good or Belgium just very poor). Feels very much all to play for. I'm going to be a wreak for the England Wales game, they will have nothing to lose and can play with massive confidence, I suspect our lads will feel the pressure a bit more and I think Bale will be a man on a mission... He loves being the 'underdog' for once I'm sure  Fancy Ireland 'could' get a win in their last two games, what they lacked in quality they made up for in spirit and work rate. Deserved the win today, will be tough now though for them... I heard a suggestion that 3 draws could be enough. I think it would and they may just do that |

I think it would and they may just do that It'll be of 1 of the usual suspects who'll win the event I feel.. Can't see any surprises in that aspect. I think despite a lack of convincing displays thus far from the heavyweights that they will play their way into the tourney gradually. Nobody wants to lose the opening match so you'll naturally always see tension early on.. England IMO can bounce back strong on Thursday.. Mistakes from now on for most teams need to be kept to the minimum if qualification is a target. Ireland are still on to qualify but it's goin to be tough.. I believe we can do it though.. |

The silence is deafening from Smurf  unlucky with ur bet U haven't lost much tho.. Tricky betting day.. I backed sweden to score the 2nd goal in live play when we started to sit back, i felt it was a matter of time with how deep we were sitting. Need to beat Belguim really which is possible looking at the way they played last night. |

Ten mins in the bin would cut them out of the game. Agree 100% on the sin bin idea..iv been in favour off thay for a long time. Id rather red cards were given for them than the yellow cards that a currently handed out. All professional fouls need a bigger punishment than a yellow card IMO. |

Havin seen all the contenders bar Portugal and Austria id rank the sides performances like this.
1. Spain
2. Germany
3. Croatia
4. Italy
5. France
6. Poland
7. England
8. Belguim
I still think a team like poland could win this. All the top sides hav problem areas that can be exploited.
Spain & Germany dont hav a good striker. Germany dont hav a good full back.
Frances defence looks awful.
Belguim are terriblly disorganised.
Croatia and Poland are 2 teams that could make a run at the final.

I think Italy play Sweden before we play Belguim....If Italy win that game a win for us against Belguim will qualify us for the next round. Hav a feeling it will all go down to the last games though. Exactly my point. Italy will run over Sweden on Friday. Sweden then needs a win in the final game against Belgium. Would feel more confident that might actually be in the stars if they pick up 3 points against Ireland. That would open the door for Ireland against Italy as well leaving Belgium in 4th placing Ireland and Sweden 2nd and 3rd... One can still dream right? |

Theyre competent all over the park and have class players like Glik, Pisceck, Krychoviack (spell check), blayschowski (definite spell check) & Lewandowski. The one thing they hav that none of the top sides seem to have is a world class striker. For them to hav a good run comin 2nd in the group wud be dead handy. Wud mean they likely avoid, France, Germany & Italy until a potential final. Im not sayin they will win it I jus think they represent good value for ppl like me who have backed them...lol |
