I came across this today. A library of course layouts, including hole distances, diagrams, photos, and with the ability to measure distances from anywhere between tee and green. Could be quite useful... especially down the road if the stock of courses continues to expand. Cheers, TreeWood

Especially if you like courses in South Africa! lol
Just yanking chains...good find. Another good resource is BestApproach golf apps for android or iPhone. I can download them to my phone or iPad, and they have some VERY detailed yardage guides and 3d flyovers. Combine those with google earth and you get get pretty spot on with a RCR.

I have Copperhead Course at Innisbrook, English Turn, and Tot Hill Farm all in my GNCD at the moment at various stages of completion, but they have taken a backseat to the Web Finals contest for the foreseeable future.

I'm amazed at how quickly you guys can bang out top-quality courses. I've been working on my run-of-the-mill course for two months off and on, and I'm just past half-way.

I probably spent 10-12hrs per hole, then there was the clubhouse and what not, then the 4 setups for Congressional, eeeesh!!! Painful reminiscing it all

Painful reminiscing it all ...Which explains the difference between your almost photo-realistic creations, and my 3-4 hours per hole, resulting in a course that looks like a fescue-fuelled dumpster fire!

I'm new to the game and especially to the GNCD part, since I wanted to play for a few weeks before I started designing. I have played PGA West (Palmer) though, and it was amazing! I am especially impressed the back half where some of the stunning elevation changes happen. Very well done rod81simo! I've only designed one course, Sylvan Bayou Golf Club, and it was really just a "practice run" for learning how to use GNCD. It's a fictional design that I made up, and it had a lot of potential had I known how to do more stuff. But since then I've watched a ton of tutorials and have started a new fictional design, Overfield Country Club. It is already miles ahead of my last course, probably because I'm putting in about 4-8 hours per hole, and my shaping and detail work is far more advanced than it was on Sylvan Bayou (but still nowhere near as advanced as the great designers). But my hope is that Overfield Country Club can pass for a legitimate course design and start me on my way to learning how to power up some great stuff. The funny thing is, once you get into GNCD, you never just "play" the game the same way anymore. I find myself constantly admiring the work others put in on their courses as I'm trying to play my round. LOL

Have only published one course from scratch, and just working on completing my first full 18. I'm finding it a grind, but a rewarding one. I've noticed the same thing... can't get on with the business of actually playing golf without stopping to let my jaw hit the ground. The sculpting, planting, general hole design skills from the design community here is amazing. We're very, very lucky to have such quality courses essentially donated by volunteer designers. Fore!

TreeWood that is an excellent point! There is never a dull moment in the TGC game because I can just play new courses all the time, and there are SO many great ones, it's amazing! I look forward to trying yours when it gets published. I'm working hard on mine as well, but 30 hours in I only have 5 holes complete. It's going to be a while before this one gets published.

It'll be a while before I'm done remodelling and addressing issues that need fixing, but in the meantime, if you want a quick nine, you can try my New Cattleman's Ranch ( not Cattleman's Run - that's a different course/designer), and I'll waive the green fee for ya! Some minor nube mistakes, but okay for a first-ever effort.

I ran through New Cattleman's Ranch tonight real quick, but only shot even par. It was a very pretty backdrop and had some unique holes. I just couldn't make a putt to save my life. Lookin forward to trying your other ones someday.
