Surprised a thread hasn't being opened on here yet in tribute to "the greatest" Muhammed Ali, who has sadly passed away... Words can't describe the figure this man was.. He fought a great fight inside & outside of the ring.. The latter referring to both his beliefs in life & not being afraid to fight for what he believed in and it could also refer to his illhealth, a battle which he fought graciously.
When you actually steady his boxing career, his ring performances warranted the confident attitudes we seen from him.. The word legend doesn't do him justice!! The greatest sportsman to ever live and ever likely to be the greatest of all time!! Why!? Because his presence was felt outside of the ring as much as in it.. RIP "THE GREATEST"

I only started in the world of boxing a few months ago, but since I can remember, every time I heard anyone speaking about sportsmen (and women) as role models for society, always came the same name to my head. Cassius Clay, Muhammed Ali, the greatest of all time.
A great loss for mankind

In his prime (long before the Internet) for you young'uns out there. You could have dropped Ali and Elvis anywhere in the world and he would've been recognised. Easily the greatest sportsman that ever lived, and a very honest and respectful person to boot. The world is a poorer place without him, but at least a couple of generations got to see the man in action.
He actually visited South Shields in the UK where I live a couple of times. The streets were packed just to glimpse "the greatest"
