I am posting this message in response to multiple recent issues on the forums that have arisen with respect to tournament behaviour deemed by members as immoral, improper, or unfair.
There is a process for dealing with such issues, and I will state it here so that people may potentially achieve change in appropriate ways.
If you have concerns regarding the tournament conduct of another member, please follow these steps:
1. Determine if a rule exists in the first place. You can check this HERE and before you leave this area, take time to consult the Member Behavior Expectations
2. If a rule does, in fact exist, please send an email to commish@tgctours.com and report the infraction, if you are so inclined.
3. If a rule does not exist, you may start a respectful conversation in the forums about potentially adding/ changing the rule. Keep in mind that any proposed rule change may be met with respectful disapproval, but feel free to continue to engage in a respectful dialogue. If you are not sure how to conduct a respectful dialogue on a forum, you may consult the above-noted Member Behaviour Expectations for guidance. If you don't feel you can do it respectfully, then probably best to abstain. TGCTours admin do read the forums, so these conversations are often discussed (however short or long the discussion may be) in admin forums when they generate enough interest. We do not necessarily give time to every single proposed rule change but if they are respectfully presented and can potentially improve the TGCTours experience, we at least give those ideas time and thought. A number of current rules came into being as a result of the process described here.
4. If you have tried the above steps and have not achieved satisfaction you can either continue to enjoy the tours as is or move on to something else if you feel you must. You can also just wait a little while (e.g. a few months) and try raising the issue again.
What is conspicuously absent from the above list are the following acts:
I will end this public service announcement by saying that this forum continues to be the most polite, sportsmanlike, and friendly forum I have ever been a part of. We wish for it to stay this way and not lower itself to the level of most other forums.
Thank you for your time.
Scott
