Hi all. Came across a problem with the practice rounds for CC tour. When I play the midnight Sun practice rounds in game, during round 3 on any hole, crashes my GPU. I restart my PC and start up game and resume and it might go 3 or 4 holes and then crashes again. This only happens on round 3. The other rounds are fine with no probs. Just thought I would mention this in case others are experiencing it. Any ideas what this problem could be or any ideas how to solve this would be greatly appreciated.

Our PC testers have not had any issues. It would helpful to know your system specs, if you care to share them.

lane, this has to be a system specific issue to your GPU. I've played 8 practice tours on Midnight Sun so far without a hitch. I used to have similar problems with my GeForce 970 card. Went to a 950 and no more in game crashes.
Try lowering the quality from high to medium or medium to low, depending on where you're at now.

I had crashing problems on my PC when I upgraded to Win 10 last week. I immediately reverted back to Windows 8.1. I was 6 holes into a course and it kept crashing. Restarting did not resolve the problem.
I noticed two things once I upgraded: 1. The performance of TGC was much better than usual. 2. My laptop's cooling fan was working overtime - much harder than usual.
I attributed the crashes to my GPU working harder than ever before - assuming that Win 10 was controlling it differently and allocating more resources to graphics processing - which, in turn, caused my GPU to run hot, and ultimately crash to prevent meltdown.
I run TGC on a laptop that was not designed (or purchased) with gaming in mind. It runs Intel HD Graphics which barely run the game, but I never had crashes before.

One thing to try is go into your in game display settings and turn down object detail to 1 if it isn't already and lower the tree settings. Maybe there is something in that setup that is making your GPU work harder. I've played multiple times on all setups (no crashes or issues) and can't even remember (old age), is there a rainy weather round or foggy or something? Maybe that's what is working your card to the point of crashing

Thanks for all your input guys. its definitely a weird one. I've managed to work out what it could be. Your right in saying the GPU is working a lot harder on the 3rd round then any other. My gpu is a xfx r9 280x and I am on medium settings. For some reason my gpu just doesn't like the 3rd round. Any other round/course/hole it has no problem, even on high settings.
I've managed to combat it by pausing game and resuming on every hole, this seems to give the gpu a little rest and it doesn't crash.
Like i said, this is very specific to round 3 and not other rounds or courses. Will try and lower details in game. Very weird. Thanks again
