I'm working now on my entry to the CC Summer Design contest. I went to create surfaces and before I placed any fairway, I checked to see if I could get out of the menu that shows all of the shapes. I couldn't, no matter how many times I pressed "ESC." I have had this issue with green and surface #2 before on different courses, but i restarted my pc and it was fixed. Not this time. How can I permanently fix this? Thanks in advance!

This happens to me sometimes. Usually, minimizing TGC and restoring the window works for me so I can use the mouse to click the "back" arrow.
Once I do that, I mash the ESC key until I reach the main menu, and then hit ESC twice more. That usually solves the problem.
To verify, I always press ESC to back out of the create surfaces context to verify that the ESC will work. Then it will work until I play test again, then I have to go through the whole rigmarole again.

The weird thing is that sometimes the ESC key works for everything else. Then I try to create surfaces and exit to add my layers of rough and I can't. I tried this trick and it worked for me. Thanks for the help! Good luck on the design contest!

Well... The problem is back. And now the ESC thing isn't working. Anyone know what to do? I absolutely cannot work on my contest course right now, and I really need to be doing so, as I only have a month left.

Use the mouse to go back, then Undo, then save, then quit and restart TGC?

I finally got my XBox controller working, and I figured out that if I exit create surfaces with the Xbox controller first, my keyboard can also exit the menu. Thanks for the help, anyway, though.
