I completely realize this is a serious stretch but... I think it's also doable with the proper planning of course. Because we now have close to 5,000 members worldwide and a platform like Twitter to get messages & info out quickly to over 1,680+ of our followers. It would be awesome if we could set something up where TGCTour members could meet up at a designated course for a one or two day golf tournament. (Saturday or Sunday or both). It could be followed by a banquet dinner
Now something like this requires a lot of planning / coordination but it's actually not that bad. I'm actually a project manager in the Air Force so I could definitely assist with something like this. But I think out of 5,000 members we could manage to get 100 people together (roughly 2%)
For international players it would be extremely tough to make it I'm sure but I wanted to at least throw the idea out there to see what everyone thought.
A rough estimate of how much it would cost.
Travel: $0-$150 in gas depending on location of tournament vs. where you live ($1,000+ for international players)
Lodging: $150-$350 for 2 or 3 nights
Tournament: $60 - $200 depending on location and 1 or 2 day
Banquet: $40
Now I understand also that a trip like this may be pretty expensive to some people which is true. That's why I would suggest not having something like this for at least a year. This would give people plenty of time to put money aside that would be interested in it. For others that do have disposable income it's no big deal but personally I would like some time to put some money aside... lol
