Is there a way to stop the fairway brush flattening the terrain? I'd not really noticed how much it does it until this course. Probably because this is my first deliberately "bumpy" course!
I've experimented on a higher corner of my course plot and it seems to retain some of the underlying contours. However as soon as I try to lay it on the course (which is nearer to the water table but still the autogen contours) it flattens the terrain.
I've tried playing with combinations of red and blue brushes but nothing stops the fairway flattening at this lower level.
Is the degree of flattening dependent on the height?

Most of it is dependent on the brush you're using. Blue...red doesn't help you in this case. That being said,Mohican brush are you using?
Sometimes you actually want to use the "raise" instead of flatten if you're just trying to get a smooth gradient. Sometimes you'll use the round super fuzzy brush to achieve it.
Without knowing what you're currently doing it's hard to say...

No there's no way to stop it. You have to recon tour it after. One thing that can help is using many small brushes instead of one or two big ones
