Did anyone else get in to that game? It was one of the first Lionhead Studios games. It was a simulator where you ran your own movie studio and hired actors and such...
But the big draw was making your own MOVIES and uploading them. There were SO many at one point and it was a lot of fun.
Did anyone play? Did you keep copies of your movies? I had a few that were pretty popular at one point but I can't find them online anymore which is sad. They were all short humor flicks with titles like "Great Slappy Fights Through The Ages" and stuff like that...
Anyone else play that one in the day? Anyone know where to find the old videos?

I did. Great fun, but I wasn't very good at it. Would be fun to see what modern technology could do to a game like that.

any idea if there is an archive of the old movies? Or some of them? I'd love to find some of my old ones. They made me giggle a LOT
Great Slappy Fights of the Ages Channel Surfing The History of Commercials
All goofy crap... loved em.

yeah I had that too. It was so good that you could focus on either running the studio like a tycoon game or just making the movies or both.
I know the servers shut down a few years ago, not sure what happened to all the created content.
Was a fun game.

Back in 2006 this game took up all my gaming time. Being a big movie fan I loved the studio-sim-through-the-history-of-cinema part and the movie creating part. It scratched a similar itch that TGC does by combining a simulation component with a creative component. I also wish that this game could be remade with modern graphics.
I even won an Australian online forum's "Grand Jury" prize for this 3 minute movie titled "Love After Life". I hope it brings back some memories ...

Perhaps one day they will bring back an updated version. But probably not. Your video reminds me of the 1987 German film 'Nekromantik', directed by Jörg Buttgereit. Twisted cinema at its best.
