So I know I said I was going to do this one like 8 months ago...but things happened. I tried using the tracing method and it was kind of hit or miss...then I lost the course file and really couldn't get it going again.
so I did what everyone that hits a snag does. I recruited help! Mr. StormGolf was kind enough to do a great trace of the course for me using his patented uber tracing skills.
He's sent the file my way and I'm currently working on the water to make sure everything fits the way it should.
This will NOT be a short term project. There is a LOT going on with this course that will take time... but the project is now further along than it has been before and I have a plan in place with an end in sight.
StormGolf and I will hopefully do it justice and you'll see a realistic and decent rendition of the course in the near future. Some holes may not hold up to the good players...but there are some that should even give the video game Tigers a run...
Thank you StormGolf!

Can't wait! I was going to attempt... But I don't really like all the measuring, so I changed my mind. I might be able to get some pics for you in a couple weeks.

I'll be there on Monday in the morning before anyone else is there and before the course has been touched, we did this last year and got some great pics. Also, Andy Tracy, you have a great profile image

You can take some if you like. I've got some decent ones and I caddied there for a few years in the 90s

Of course 16 has been redone, so I can get you a pic of the new 16.

17 was totally redone too...and the bunkers on 18. Pictures that would be helpful? Green complexes...

Yeah. I can try to get the greens, but it's hard to see all of the slope. Strackaline might be helpful here, if you're willing to spend a few dollars. Make sure to record the tourney on tv to look back at.

reebdoog What theme will you do it in? The PGA memorial has been at a countryside the last two years, which is weird, because Muirfield Village doesn't look like that. I'd suggest rustic, or rural with rustic colors. There's lots of maples around there.

the texture swapping really makes it possible to use almost any theme you want now. Likely Rustic will be the way to go. I'll know more when planting gets going. Right now it's all about getting the elevations and such worked out. The planting will take a long time on this one but won't be "hard" as much as "painstaking"

It would be nice to see some progress pictures along the way... And just a little more than a week till action starts!
