I'm through with PC games. Tired of having to upgrade an otherwise perfectly serviceable machine just to play the latest and greatest. Also, usually needing to change a bunch of settings for different games...by the time you get it to run right you're no longer in the mood to play it. With a console it's just plug and play.
But, I sure do miss Civ and other turn-based strategy games.

Well, I hope it's better than beyond earth civilization ... civilization 5 grew on me, but I wasn't a fan at the onset.
Civ4 won me from the start. Civ3 was great.
So hopefully Civ 6 improves upon 5 without major relearning curve.
And I don't go days without sleep.

I didn't ever try beyond earth...I'm sure I will but I never really had the time for it.
Civ 5 took some time to get into for sure...but once I got the hang of it I dug it. VENICE FOR THE WIN!

Beyond earth took a bit of a learning curve, but it never caught on with me ... the whole alien world thing just didn't live up to my liking.
Guess I was expecting more and felt like I got less.

I really enjoyed civ4, but was disappointed in civ5 and didn't play it much. I'm sure I'll buy it...we'll have to game together once it's out

I still play fan made Modpacks for Civ4 to this day. Civ5 was a big disappointment. I see Civ6 still has the hexagon tiles, which I wasn't a fan of in Civ5. I still am cautiously optimistic, though.

See ... I enjoyed the jump from 4 sides to 6 sides to defend. It increased the thought process. the thing I was set back on most was the "learning curve" and other changes in strategy play. But, once I got use to the Tech tree upgrades ... I quickly adapted and had to increase my level of play to challenge myself more.
My problem is once I get deep into the game, I hate walking away ... often I will go into 18 hours of non-stop game play (or more) ... I get that into it and hate stopping in a middle of war ....
I also like playing with the maximum amount of computer players (all random) with one city state per player. No Razing, No Artifacts, Lots of Raging Barbarians, No Space Rave victories ...
Total Domination ... is the only way ... (sometimes I'll opt for diplomatic - but that is an easier win - until I played above level 5) 8^(
I have no doubt I will become a owner of Civ6

I played with all the different victory conditions... I found that the least satisfying for me was using religion. I really enjoyed playing as Venice and buying out city states all over. That was a new wrinkle that was quite fun. NO SETTLERS! I was like...whaaaaaaa? The space race thingy is a cop out win for me. I really liked not being able to have huge stacks of units. The strategy was totally different and I liked it.

Yeah ... space race and religion were both cop outs to me ... I always go as Washington ... I like buying up extra property quickly, and wait till I can get my B-17's ... Then I go Bomb Crazy ... and love to get my Submarines Quick as I can ...
