Black Wood Creek GC is a course that has a nice parkland feel to it. greens have nasty break but the greens are soft so you an throw in your approach shots. enjoy!

This is a nice golf course that I hope does not slip under the radar. The course has a natural look and feel with generous fairways( the exception being 14 which narrows a lot, nothing wrong with the hole play wise, just did not fit the rest of the course look wise) and soft greens that can be attacked. All sounds simple enough for low scoring, and it is until you get to the greens. The greens have a lot of slope and if land on the wrong side of the cup, two putting becomes difficult. Despite that, the pin positions are not unfair( again one exemption, 17th seems to be on yellow lines which makes it very difficult to stop the ball anywhere close with out it rolling away) it is up to us the golfer to read the greens on approach to allow that birdie chance. Something, I did not do well with just two birdies the entire round. This ups the difficulty level a bit and makes the course play harder than it looks. I played the Thursday tees so can't comment on the other days. There is nothing that stands out on the course but there is no need for this when the course looks natural all the way round. I played on ps4 and there was some frame rate drop but just minor and nothing that effects a shot. Overall, a good course with greens that can catch out, a course that deserves a few plays.

I already played your course, and agree with hmammoth only partially. I totally share his opinion about the look and feel of the course, it's very nicely done. I don't agree that much with Dan about the greens, as I felt them a bit "undone". I mean, you picked the spot where you wanted the greens to rest, laid your brushes and smoothed the area making sure there are not unfair pins (there are a couple of them two close to yellow lines). But I missed a bit more of sculpting, most of the greens seem to have only the "general" breaks. Adding some small hollows, or some little mounds could help with the variety of the greens. Give us some double breakers and all that staff I also would like to mention you what I found less atractive in the whole course. The bunkers. Most of the holes have the same type of bunker, placed a few times both sides of the landing area. They are sculpted enough, but become a bit repetitive, as there is not a big variance in shapes and sizes. Try to play a bit with that, in order to make some more interesting shapes. And also, and this is for visual reasons, try to avoid to place the bunkers over more than one type of surface, a bunker looks much better surrounded by the same type of surface in all its perimeter. But the most important thing is having a plan. And in this course you had a plan, so the work is worth the time and effort put on it. Congratulations, and thanks for sharing your creation
