Hi all. Here's a quick re-post. I hope to provide more info and, of course, more releases soon! What began 11 months ago is now complete. I'm honestly a little too wiped out now to provide a proper introduction to the course, although I'd love to include a ton of info. What I'll do is continue to update this page over the next few days with information that I find interesting, along with more screenshots: clvgolf.com/oakmontFor now I have released two versions: Oakmont Country Club (Medium-A) This is a kinder version of the course, meant for all levels of play. Firmness settings are at medium, and green speeds are at 180 instead of 187 (big change, I know!) Oakmont Country Club (US Open-A) This is a candidate for the first round of the US Open, if I don't find any faults with it. The pins are the 2007 US Open locations (as are the ones in Medium-A). The tees are mostly maxed out, with exceptions for 8, 12, 15 and 16. Length is 7170, which is just under the scorecard length. Conditions are maxed out firm and fast. Here are a couple of screenshots to get started.

Craig
well what can I say other than three little words.... "This is Oakmont" absolutely an outstanding recreation....
I played it pretty well... The US Open version... Ended up -4 after two bogies.....
I nearly got my first albatross ever on 12... had around 10mph all round long and it was at my back and I hit a monstrous drive followed by this on the 623 yard par 5
*Excuse video it was taken on phone*
I missed the friggen come back eagle, then missed about a 6 foot birdy on 18...
Again outstanding work here.. folks play this course now.. You wont be disappointed... We are lucky to be able to play masterpieces like this.. Terry

Very nice, well worth the wait ... This should be on the Champions Tour (medium version) ... what a great challenge it is ... plays well in 10+ winds
(Glad you published the "Medium" version!!! As I think I would be in the triple digits on the US Open version ...)

Truly a beautiful looking course. Don't know the real one enough but I know your work so I'd say it is spot on. Certainly felt like playing a true US Open venue both in terms of atmosphere and how it played. I thought the long grass was genius. Leaving the bare ground only in the long grass areas meaning at even at long distances it was distinctive... So many other courses I should have been playing but glad that I didn't resist the urge to fire this one up. Congrats on another beauty

I've played several video golf games over the years and most of them had Oakmont at sometime or another. You nailed this badboy to a tee. It's exactly like any Oakmont course I've ever played in any video golf game including WGT's when I played that game for quite awhile. WGT uses panoramic screenshots for backgrounds and blends the game into it so it's an exact replica. This course looks just like it. Great Job CLV....10/10 and a favorite for sure.

I've played a fair share of courses more recently from top designers as my game has improved a lot but I must say I shot E on my round and feel like I had a heck of a round on this course it will wear you out if you're out of place and don't get a feel for the greens. This is an absolute standard for what rcr courses should be I'm amazed at the time that's been put in and the effort my hat is truly off to you mister clv you've got another masterpiece here and no doubt what should be the host of the us open this year folks give this course a go and you'll see what's possible on the course designer!

Another fantastic RCR clv. Looks fantastic and plays great. An insta 10 and a favourite for me. I'm not biased at all Seriously, of all of the par 3's, and of all of the (eventual) pins on that green, THAT is the one you ace? Unbelievable.

Well...this was fantastic. I know I'm not the only one who realizes how lucky we are as golf fans and golfing gamers to have the designers and dedicated people involved with this game. This is a fantastic course and recreation. Gave it a 10 and made it a favorite. You did a phenomenal job! This should end up on a tour, probably a lower level tour. In all honesty, who cares what tour it's on. If the winning scores get to -60, oh well. It's a joy to play. I said this in a post a couple days ago, but what we have here is a REAL golf course. You get the feeling of being there...it's great! Not a lot of eye candy with lots of plantings or rock walls, or huge elevation changes. Those are great, but would not represent what your trying to accomplish here. I can't say enough how wonderful these real life recreations are. You designers should be commended big time. There is a lot of work involved in creating these and I hope the rest of the community that plays will take the time to let you know how great this is...after all you dedicated TONS of your time. Anyway, thank you again! SUPER JOB!

Somewhere, if you believe in that type of stuff, Henry Fownes has a smile on his face today. The attention to detail will unfortunately probably be over the heads of 95% of the people who play this but it's just outstanding. Looks great, plays great and as bassman said it's just golf and that's all I ever want or need.

Great job Craig. You've definitely captured the essence of oakmont from what I remember from the US Open and the TW games. As with any accurate RCR, With the easy swing, missing fairways is almost impossible but damn it was so tough to hit it close and the greens were just spot on. Played the US Open version and battled for a -5, Unbelievable job, I'm not a big RCR guy but gotta be honest gave this one a 10/10.
