We did it, we surpassed 100K published courses. And we all know 97K are complete crap...so I was thinking of a fun/cool/crazy contest...The Golf Club Crap Course Scavenger hunt.
My basic idea is this...have a scavenger contest for individuals (or teams?) to find a list of potential things hiding (or blatant but unknown) on these 97K crap published courses.
Here's a list of some things I've thought of as examples- you have to check off as many of these as possible by finding a course that features...: 1. Curse word(s) written out in sand/rocks/etc. 2. Troll courses- 17 holes that are fairly normal/fair, but then an 18th hole you can't complete to finish your round (i.e. impossible to reach green. Covered the hole with a huge rock, etc). 3. Automatic hole in one hole (like the entire hole funnels the ball into a hole) 4. Intentional phallic symbols (like a huge crank somewhere) 5. Course where every hole plays to the same green. 6. A hole under 30 yards where you don't tee off on a green. 7. An 18-hole all par5 course 8. A majestic design built out of toilets 9. A course where there's a huge animal party/orgy going on (tons of animals clumped together) 10.
If you guys like the idea, let me know and submit more suggestions for things to find. I'm thinking we get a list of 20-25 things like this, and then have a contest to see who can find the most courses that fit the descriptions. We can have hidden ballots where you basically submit the course name if it fits.
The most fun, is I think we should Twitch/Stream the winner's scavenger card as we go to each course to verify/reveal what it looks like to match the description.
Who's in or has ideas to improve & execute?

It'll be hard enough to find the courses that aren't autogens...

Oh I knew it wouldn't be easy. That's why I thought maybe have teams of people competing.

I do think it's a fun idea though, I'd be happy to participate. I just might get bored after a while of searching through autogens

This is a great idea... after we find enough of them, we should put a tour together and see how it goes

Eli's Course 2 had a toilet on every hole...does that count?
The one he's working on now will have a toilet on every tee box. Apparently all the laughs from you guys on the toilets on every hole made him want to do more toilets.

I thought this would be the 100,000 round tour... Thirty minutes per round.. It would take 3 million minutes.. or 50,000 hours.. or 2083.3 days.. or 5.75 years of non stop playing.. If you had no life and played 12 hours a day it would take you 11.5 years.. And Ian Sweeney would still kick your @&&

The Highland Course at Aberfeldy. It's mine and it's awful. From the earliest days of the course designer in early access. It has every problem known to course design.
