This has probably been discussed many times, but what is the measurement of one grid box on the green? One yard? One meter? I've been counting it as a yard, but was hoping someone could establish this for me once and for all.

It is one meter. So 10 grid boxes is 11 yards, roughly.

1.1 yards as said earlier 10 boxes is 11 yards 5 boxes 5.5 yards and so on

Interesting that the thread you link Thomas is a confirmed 1 yard box. This is not what I've experienced nor what I've been told.
I'm fairly sure its 1 meter and that would be 1.1 yard roughly.
