I originally started on a tropical course with a Pebble Beach / Cypress Point kind of feel. It was very pretty and definitely a crowd-pleaser, but I was having trouble getting the quality of the course itself to match the beauty of the scenery, so I decided to scrap it. The new one will be based on one of my favorite courses in the world: the scenery won't be as stunning, but I think the course itself will be a great test for the Web guys.

Moe Slorkman I want to make sure on something. You said I wasn't allowed to use a course that I was only a few holes in on before you announced this contest? It's gonna be rough for me with all these WIP's that are in early stages to scrap a brand new one again. Lol

It's gonna be rough for me with all these WIP's that are in early stages to scrap a brand new one again. Lol I don't think you would be gaining much of an advantage with the time frame given to everyone so I'll allow it. If you were nearly finished then of course that would be an issue . So unless I get a heap of PMs complaining fire away. |

I have pass the stop and restart stage and have begun work on the final version. All I'm saying is that it is going to be a very clever course.

I guess I'm the only one to have done nothing on the designer yet then lol. Bloody work and family getting in the way, I've got 8 holes sketched out in a sketch pad and I know what I want it to look like. Struggling to get a theme to match how I want it to look. At least I've got a name for it though. Hopefully get on the gncd at the end of the week

geez... you guys are humming along. I'm only 3 holes in with no extras at all. This one FEELS different from others I've done. I might throw in some happy eye candy stuff I don't do a lot of if I have time.
FYI... Using a Desert Theme so...there's a hint for ya!

Obviously past work is against the grain, but if you are only 10 or even 20% along, with a generous time scale it's all good with me Can't wait to get back to my course this evening, coming along pretty swiftly for me. I'm thinking I might take a step back though and consider the overall plot a lot more before doing much more. I can see that routing will have to be very well planned with the style/theme/whatever I've gone with |

By the way guys, I think I've decided to start a new one anyway, so erase the whole old project thing. Didn't feel right anyway, and I've got a couple idea in mind. Unfortunately will just have to put the other projects in the rear view for now.
